Tower Tower Engineering Tower Internals & TCM
Tower Engineering is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural engineering, project management over highly specialised FEM calculations, requirements specifications, DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation.
Tower Internals & TCM is a sub-department of Tower Engineering. The department is responsible for the design of offshore structures, certification of non-standard towers including new development of alternative tower and internal concepts of all offshore towers.
There is a high focus on securing sound, cost-optimised and production friendly solutions and at the same time fulfilling the overall requirements to safety and functionality for the products. As System Technical Lead, you will, together with the Manager, be in the leadership team of 15+ highly skilled design engineers.
Responsibilities
As System Technical Lead in the Tower Internals & TCM team your primary responsibility will be to drive projects and undertake technical leadership within structural design and assist in development and optimisation of designs and processes. You will be responsible for two to six projects ongoing, which can vary from months to years.

Responsibilities
As System Technical Lead in the Tower Internals & TCM team your primary responsibility will be to drive projects and undertake technical leadership within structural design and assist in development and optimisation of designs and processes. You will be responsible for two to six projects ongoing, which can vary from months to years.
The technical project management and planning includes:
- You will identify opportunities and run projects in towers and tower internals structural parts for wind turbines
- Identify and mitigate technical risks within the project scope and lead technical reviews
- Secure technical decision making to get the needed progress in the projects
- Manage and align project challenges with project management and stakeholders
- Assist in FEA-based structural assessments of towers
- Propose, implement and document design improvements
- Oversee the development and optimisation of FE models and post-processing tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or similar) in Mechanical, Structural, Production or Marine Engineering
- Min. 10 years of relevant experience which includes insight to project management or technical leadership of projects
- Experience with design of steel structures, analytical calculations, verification and knowledge of dynamic loaded structures
- Experience with CAD design in 3D & 2D - Creo & PDMLink
- Experience in structural assessments using FEA (preferably ANSYS Classic / ADPL), structural analysis, fatigue analysis
- Experience with design of towers for wind turbines or other mast/chimney structures is an advantage
- Knowledge within bolted connections, fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics, and buckling analysis
