About the department
Global Contract Manufacturing (GCM) is part of Novo Nordisk Product Supply organisation and responsible for Novo Nordisk contracts for global and local manufacturing of drug substance and drug products. Our main office is located in Bagsværd, Denmark where appr. 50 people are based.
The primary role of GCM is to establish, monitor, support and control the production handled by Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs). We operate in various countries, e.g. USA, Belgium, Germany and China. The department GCM Projects is responsible for the control of thefor project portfolio in GCM and for executing the projects in the portfolio.
About the projects
The large projects are typically handling the phases going from development to commercial production within drug substance or drug product manufacturing. The focus for the projects are to ensure a smooth transition from the development phase and creating a foundation for a robust production at the CMO’s for the later commercial production.
A typical project will in the first phase focus on the tech transfer aiming at clinical production. This phase will normally be headed up by R&D/CMC with contribution from GCM. The second phases of the project will focus on the PPQ and the establishment of a robust commercial production and supply chain. This phase will be headed up by GCM Projects. Beyond the CMO several organisational units across CMC, Product Supply and Device R&D are involved the projects.
The position
As Senior Project Manager (SPM) in GCM you will be responsible for all GCM- activities in one or more the projects. During the first phase of the projects you will work closely with the CMC PM coordinating Product Supply's and GCM’s effort in the projects to ensure a good foundation for the future in GCM. From second phase in the projects you will act as overall project manager including all internal and external stakeholders.
As the SPM you will be responsible for establishing all the traditional project control tools like project plans, stakeholder management and communication, risk analysis, project performance reporting and appropriate governance both in GCM, with the CMO and internally among the involved NN units. Alignment with the CMC PM for the first phase of the project is a key to success.
The key targets for the SPM will be timely and successful execution of the PPQ, preparation and execution of handover to the operational organisation and once handed over, a robust production at the CMO, stable and timely deliveries and an efficient supply chain.
As the projects is highly dependent on good collaboration and resources across several business units from e.g. CMC, Manufacturing Development, QA, Supply Chain Management and Strategic Sourcing a key skill is the ability to ensure effective collaboration and governance and to ensure a smooth and fast project execution (we use the Half Double project methodology).
Qualifications
You hold an academic degree within e.g. Pharmacy, Engineering or similar. You have an established track record in project management with extensive experience. Ideally your theoretical background is combined with a thorough understanding and experience within the pharmaceutical business and manufacturing of pharmaceutical finished goods, preferably large organisations within aseptic production or from a manufacturing development function.
Beyond your can do attitude you are good at building trust with stakeholders, bridging gaps and you are able to establish a strong network internally in Novo Nordisk as well as with our external partners. You have an analytical mind-set with the ability to work structured with a high degree of detail understanding.
Preferably you have experience from a large organisation with an international environment. You accept travelling as an integral part of the job as you should expect to be on site at the CMO for a significant amount of time. Furthermore, you are a strong communicator with the ability to work with people from different professions and cultures, and you have a high proficiency in English.
