The positions The project team is among other things, responsible for building thermal solutions on all major Danish production sites. This entails building site-wide utilities within the areas of steam, heat, water, cooling and emergency power back-up. The thermal solutions should be robust, scalable and have a very high reliability since it is a critical infrastructure. The aim is to make production and delivery of these utility services fossil free. As our new Utility Specialist, you will help us complete these very ambitious projects. Your main responsibilities in this role will include: Supporting the Senior Project Managers running our flagship projects that aim to transform our energy infrastructure Co-designing and developing integrated energy systems within steam, heat and cooling Being the projects chief advisor on the use of new technologies such as molten salt and on proven technologies within electric steam generators, heat pumps etc Managing stakeholders across Novo Nordisk all the way from equipment owners, other project managers to line-of-business Furthermore, this is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the execution team, ensuring that we implement tangible and significant steps towards achieving zero environmental impact. The role starts as part of the project organisation but after completion of the projects transition, it will move into a more traditional operational role where the Utility Specialist will contribute to optimization of the newly established assets, to ensure optimal benefits for the security of supply and the environment. Qualifications Preferably you hold a Master’s degree in engineering or similar with 5+ years of experience within the field of thermodynamics or thermal energy systems (cooling, heating, steam etc.). Furthermore, we expect you to have: Great problem-solving skills with structured and skilled approach in navigating high complexity Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and experience at all levels Ability to motivate yourself and the rest of the project team Project management experience or experience within energy design, energy infrastructure or utility installations is an advantage Fluency in spoken and written English, and Danish as a plus As an individual with a can-do attitude, you work systematically, logically and proactively, and are self-driven, structured, robust and capable of handling a high-paced and complex work environment, without losing oversight and motivation. About the department The job is anchored in the department “Sustainable Utility Projects”, which is part of Corporate Facilities. We manage a large portfolio of sustainability projects at multiple impact and maturity levels, some spanning the entire organisation. We drive execution all the way from design to handover and work systematically and strategically to implement ‘Circular for Zero’ initiatives within the areas of energy supplies and utility installations. We collaborate across many business areas of Novo Nordisk and with external partners including consultants and contractors.
