VIKING’s Digital Department comprises 40 dedicated colleagues, located in Denmark, Thailand, Bulgaria, Singapore, China and Norway. We are responsible for VIKING’s global IT environment, using SAP, Microsoft and Service Now as our major platforms.
We have just launched our new Digital Strategy to support VIKING’s business plan towards 2025, and are now seeking a Digital Project Manager. The successful applicant will be based at our headquarters in Esbjerg and report directly to our Senior Digital Director.
Where do you come in?
This is a unique opportunity to take responsibility for some of the major projects within our Digital Strategy and engage with all levels and branches of VIKING’s global organization.
As a Digital Project Manager you will be responsible for managing selected, larger IT projects or programs within areas such as SAP and other business applications including business roll out of new IT systems and processes.
The focus will be on projects with many business users and/or assignments, which need support from different teams across the IT organization and involve a range of IT competencies.
This position calls for up to 15-30 international travel days a year.
Primary tasks and responsibilities
The Digital Project Manager acts as IT’s internal center of excellence for project management, which includes;
- Facilitating the development of the project management methods for IT in concert with VIKING’s general project model
- Project preparation including business cases and project brief.
- Project and portfolio Management
- Leading agile development teams
- Development and business implementation
- Selection and handling of subcontractors
You will work in close coordination with the entire IT organization, as well as the relevant stakeholders in each area of the business.
To succeed, you will need to deliver projects on scope, time and budget as well as understanding how the IT applications support the business processes and users, in order to facilitate change management.
Your background
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a similar position. Experience with SAP and ServiceNow, is clearly an advantage, as is knowledge in leading teams using agile project management.
However, whether your background is as a project manager or you are a recent graduate with a few years of relevant work experience, VIKING will provide thorough training in products and systems.
You have:
- An IT or technical background
- Experience with IT development projects and implementation of processes in the business
- Preferably an educational background in project management and/or as a Scrum Master
- The ability to navigate in a global organization and engage with many passionate stakeholders
- A strong capacity to oversee projects and a solid business understanding of the full value chain in an international Company
- The ability to communicate freely at all organizational levels in English and Danish
On the personal level you are a team player with a positive and results-oriented attitude. You are also outgoing with good communication skills and can create a constructive dialogue and network at all levels in the organization.
