Steeper Energy was created in 2011. Over the years, Steeper has grown, today it consists of a team of scientists, engineers, and support staff advancing Steeper’s core technologies and supporting the build-out of commercial projects. Steeper has locations in both Denmark and Canada. Today, Steeper Energy is very close to the commercial phase.Steeper Energy's vision in brief is the following: breakthrough technology implementations are required to address climate change and human-driven environmental impacts. The two-pronged challenge of managing human-driven waste and reducing mankind’s carbon footprint can be directly addressed with Steeper’s technology portfolio. Steeper Energy has developed a proprietary version of hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) called Hydrofaction®. It converts biomass waste streams into renewable and sustainable biocrude oil. This in turn can be further refined into renewable fuels compatible with all types of reciprocating and turbine engines, and energy infrastructure currently in use today.

Dine opgaver



As a Senior Project Manager your main responsibility will be driving all aspects of project management within the processes used at Steeper Energy. As a Senior Project Manager, you will take the project from the business development specification through the engineering department all the different functions. Furthermore, you will follow up on deliverables and ensure optimal workflow and defined tasks.
  • Implement and optimise project management tools within Steeper Energy
  • You will approach and instil collaborations with suppliers and work together with the Aalborg pilot plant to test sit specific activities.
  • Define the test strategy for the pilot plant from a high-level perspective
  • Do cost estimation of full-scale project proposals
  • Manage workflows and define the work packages
  • Be the midpoint between business development and the technical specifications
  • Develop projects to an engineering package level. The projects will include international and multi-stakeholder’ projects between partners and customers


Din profil



You are experienced within project management and have a background within chemical engineering. Knowledge of heat exchangers and/or HTL is preferred. You are a motivated, enthusiastic, and result-oriented person who is adaptable and likes to work in a team environment.
  • 5+ years' experience in project management
  • Masters or PhD in Chemical, Process or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience with project management tools
  • Industry background in refineries, petrochemical processes, biofuel processes, HTL, etc.
  • Experience in structing workflows for project execution, R&D, technical documentations, process and utility flow diagrams, and proposal engineering together with cost estimation
  • Experience with heat exchanger designs, process simulations, heat & mass balance
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, results-oriented, and flexible
  • Ability to apply your experience and competencies to new situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required
  • Are a strong team player
