Opportunity

Is Change Management your passion and where do you see yourself developing and excelling in the future? Do you have a talent for engaging others, for making changes come to life and do you want to work for an international company that is leading in its industry?

Then we may have something for you.

At Maersk, we have embarked on a transformation journey that includes all aspects from decarbonization to company culture, to how we design our products and processes to become fully customer-centric.

In Fleet Management & Technology (FMT) we work with Maersk’s largest asset; our vessels and the people who operate them. This means we touch upon anything from daily operations, to how we will deliver on a more efficient and greener tomorrow.

One of our talented Change Managers is soon going on maternity leave and we are looking for someone who can cover for a full year. As a Change Management Partner, you will work across the different functional areas in Fleet Management & Technology, gaining exposure to leadership across many different levels. You will get to learn more about life at sea, be a part of changing the industry in the efforts to decarbonize sea transport and work with the people that design the world’s most modern container vessels.

We Offer

At Maersk, we value the diversity of our talent, and we will always strive to recruit the best person for the job. We value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to, gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs. We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high-performing teams.

As a Change Management Partner, you will be working for Fleet Management and Technology in Maersk. FMT is a large organization working globally, with shore functions primarily based out of Europe, India and Singapore, and a fleet employing close to 13.000 seafarers sailing across the world.

You will be exposed to many different aspects of Ship Management, ranging from HR to safety, compliance, technical support and development. You will work with projects that range from cultural transformation interlinking sea and shore to digitalization of our tools and standardization and simplification of processes. An overarching objective across our projects is that we strive to use data to drive the right decision. We strive to foster a culture of engagement and pride, and we make sure that all is done with the customer in focus.

In this position, you will join Process Partnering & Change Management team, which means your closest colleagues will all be working in Change Management, Communication, Process Development and implementation. In the team, we value each other and there is a focus on personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

As a Change Management Partner, you will have a responsibility both for hands-on Change Management support and will be part of a sizable assignment which could be either technical IT/digitization projects or people-focused initiatives with no technical elements. Depending on the task, you will work closely together with managers, subject matter experts, seafarers and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving the successful implementation and adoption of changes from the early stages to the closure of the initiatives, and your key responsibilities will for example be:

  • Driving the Change Management activities to ensure all relevant stakeholders feel sufficiently informed, involved, and engaged.
  • Drive all types of tasks within the Change Management lifecycle – from assessing the change impact to planning, managing, reinforcing, and measuring readiness and successes.
You will own the tasks needed to ensure impact and adoption.
  • Planning and delivering training, understanding training requirements and target groups, choosing between the different delivery methods, and creating curriculums and training plans. Depending on the assignment you will either be very hands-on or coach others on how to execute.
  • Consult and coach project teams, product owners and managers on Change Management
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists such as UX designers and Process Partners

Since we are working in an environment where vessels move, crews change recurrently and people are very diverse in terms of education and cultural backgrounds, we need to think creatively in terms of how we plan and execute change. Technical obstacles also limit the tools that we can use to create engagement and collaboration - and especially training can be a challenge. We, therefore, look for people who not only can think outside the box but also people with a can-do attitude who will be able to find solutions in this special environment we are working within.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a relevant Bachelor's or Master’s degree and could be someone with either some years of experience with Change Management or someone rather newly educated but with the right training and education and solid work experience from student positions.

It is important that you can demonstrate subject matter expertise and that you are interested in working with digital transformations as many of our projects take place in this space.

You must be passionate about learning and training and feel comfortable with the facilitation of anything from small to large-scale meetings, workshops etc.

You should have the ability to analyze business problems and suggest solutions, and you are capable of making decisions and you execute on plans.

You thrive on challenges and enjoy working in a cross-functional team in an operational environment.

Furthermore:

  • Your English is excellent, and you have exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • You can clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences - you can straightforwardly present complex matters.

  • You can establish and maintain strong relationships and you can operate effectively at many levels in an organization.
  • You are resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere – the execution and completion of tasks are what drive you.
  • Your preferred style of work is structured, analytical, systematic and yet with a good eye for detail.
  • You are a Team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others and believe in a collaborative approach to creating change.
