DFDS is currently going through a transformation. The outcome of a recent strategy process has confirmed our initial initiatives within AI and predictive analytics and provided renewed ambitions for an accelerated digitalization of our business and work on transforming the Ferry and logistic industry.
For the last two years the Smart Data team have been working agile with a strong focus on customer’s needs, they have already delivered multiple solutions that provides tangible benefits for the business and our customers and the work continues with great opportunities. The team currently consists of 12 highly dedicated specialists and we are now looking for an experienced and motivated colleague to join this successful team and help accelerate our strategy even further and help deliver innovative, data-driven products and enhancements aimed at transforming the industry.
As a Project Manager in Smart Data, you will become the expert in the processes surrounding projects within data science. Your primary task will be to liaison the data science world with the operation to turn business problems into data solutions that provide real value for the company and its customers. You will do so working in an agile environment with an explorative and fail-fast mind-set.
You will lead projects with data engineers and scientists as well as subject-matter experts from the operation.
Your focus will be to support the business with all tasks needed for the project to become a success, this will include, but is not limited to:
We have full end-to-end ownership of initiatives (data acquisition & analysis, building predictive models, creating prototypes and assisting with integrating of solutions into existing products and processes) which means you will be part of identifying the problems, finding a possible solution, testing it and moving it into production if it is successful.
Smart Data is part of the Digital organization with 80+ experienced and dedicated colleagues. You will report to the head of the Smart Data department and be placed at our headquarters in Nordhavn (Copenhagen).

We are looking for a capable and energetic Project Manager with experience of running technology driven data projects and communicating with stakeholders from across all layers of an organization.
We expect you to have completed a degree in a Digital, Technology or Business oriented discipline and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. We are specifically interested in candidates with experience from transport and logistics or working with data science or similar technologies.
You are self-driven, a problem solver and pragmatic, with respect for colleagues and the confidence to delegate work in specialist areas. It is essential that you both practice and advocate Lean ways of working and can manage stakeholder expectations.
You have a deep interest in working with data science and are motivated by being part of a small, high-performing team who embrace challenge and change, and in which all team members make use of their individual skills to ensure a supportive and high performing team culture.
