IT Project Manager for Nordic RCC

Nordic RCC A/S is an important contributor to the green transition as the provider of regional power system planning data and security analysis to support the national transmission system operators to ensure the efficient operation of the Nordic Electricity Power System and high security of power supply at any time.
Unique nature of the role and the project
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for leading a complex multiyear project with tight timelines, regulatory requirements, and technical complexity.
This project is a unique endeavour in the field of energy market coupling, focusing on the implementation of the second phase of Flow-Based Market Coupling in the Nordic region. It's a multifaceted initiative driven by a collaborative consortium consisting of Nordic Regional Coordination Center (Nordic RCC), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and market participants.
This position's unique nature lies in its blend of high-level strategy, collaborative orchestration, and facilitation of local contribution. The Project Manager will not only be directly managing the intricacies of local NRCC IT project but will be guiding the collective efforts of the entire consortium on regional level, playing a pivotal role in orchestrating, and harmonizing the efforts of the participants, each pursuing their local projects in alignment with the regional objectives.
The success of this role hinges on effective communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to foster consensus among diverse stakeholders, making it a highly specialized and impactful opportunity within the realm of energy market coupling.
You will take lead in all the processes of time, resource and budget planning, scope definition, stakeholders’ coordination, risk management, monitoring and tracking the project progress and reporting on it.
In addition to this, it will be your responsibility to ensure the definition and tracking of deliverables along with maintaining a comprehensive project documentation supported by clear and continuous communication.
Reporting to the Head of Project Implementation your key responsibilities are:
Proactive position with customer-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills
On the personal level you are proactive, customer oriented and have excellent communication skills. You are responsible, structured and have a strong focus on finding a solution while being constructive.
The ideal candidate is expected to have an education at BA or MA level in computer science, engineering, or project management, but experience from a similar role is more important.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the energy sector.

Reporting to the Head of Project Implementation your key responsibilities are:
- Facilitate cross-stakeholder collaboration: establish and oversee regional and local project governance, working groups comprising representatives from each entity.
- Define overarching strategy, ensure planning and milestone monitoring, with an emphasis on the broader regional context.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of the local project, collect plans from other local projects and build and continuously update and communicate regional long- and short-term plans with milestones and deadlines.
- Create and update local and regional project budget and follow-up on the project financials: forecasted and actuals.
- Perform the local project resource management: starting from assessment of required capabilities and percentage of time spent in project through negotiation for allocation and to well-planned release.
- Proactively carry out timely involvement of relevant internal or external stakeholders and specialists.
- Work on seamless collaboration with IT architect and development team.
- Secure cross-project alignment, identifying and addressing dependencies, risks, needs and required capacities.
- Monitor project progress, assess project performance and report on it.
- Structure, present and communicate project information at a relevant level of detail to different stakeholder groups.
- Plan and drive transition from project to operational phase ensuring a structured and well-prepared handover.
- Lead the project team throughout the full life cycle of a project, providing a big picture and detail when needed.

- A well-developed understanding of IT project management and ability to utilize industry best practices, methodologies, and standards separately and in combination that fits the concrete project.
- Strong stakeholder and expectations management skills.
- Ability to lead a cross-discipline project team and desire to learn about and be involved in the business part of project.
- Strategic perspective that goes beyond the confines of local IT development.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the energy sector.
