If yes, then we are looking for an ambitious Project Lead who is eager to drive and implement strategic development projects across our department.
About the department
In Global Drug Discovery (GDD), we are more than 800 colleagues who work on exploring scientific ideas, testing novel concepts and full-fledged research projects which could develop into novel medicines for people with diabetes, obesity, Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), cardiovascular and chronic kidney disease. We work in research sites in Denmark (Måløv), United Kingdom (Oxford), United States (Seattle and Boston) and China (Beijing) and utilise a large network of external collaborators from Biotech, Academia and non-profit organisations, making our research a truly global undertaking. Some of our most disruptive projects and platforms are run in “Transformative Research Units” (TRU) where we utilise a small-biotech, entrepreneurial mindset and external engagement to progress novel treatment concepts such as Stem Cells for Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease. We have an outstanding track record in particular in our long-standing core areas diabetes and obesity and are experts in pushing protein and peptide-based drug molecules into clinical development. More recently, we are growing our competencies in CV, NASH and CKD and also engage in small molecule drug discovery.
The position
As a Project Lead, you will manage strategic development projects that include but are not limited to driving progress and continuously updating the ‘Strategy to Action’ and annual wheel activities in GDD, ensuring clarity and overview of the project portfolio at management level, and operationalizing research partnerships with external partners.
In addition, you will identify opportunities for the development of the area by gathering external insights and industry trends that can support innovation. Furthermore, you will be involved in development and coordination of strategic management presentations to senior level management. You will work in a high-performance culture and be part of a dynamic and collaborative team.
Qualification
You hold an academic degree in Business or similar with solid experience within business strategy and operations. In addition, you are expected to have minimum 5 years of project management experience either in a scientific or a business setting. Your previous experience working for a pharmaceutical company and/or with business development will be an added advantage but is not a requirement.
With a high degree of planning and multi-tasking abilities, you are able to operate in a complex, sometimes fast changing environment. You manage through uncertainties by utilizing your solid networking abilities. You are an excellent communicator, and your strong analytic mind-set helps you to focus on what is important.
