Are you an experienced leader in drug discovery and project management with a scientific background? Do you possess a track record of spearheading cross-functional drug development projects and due diligence processes within the pharmaceutical industry?

The Position Within the GDD organization, you as the Project Director, guide cross-functional teams of 3-10 members from different departments. You will lead due diligence (DD) activities on behalf of the GDD organization for review of incoming external opportunities, such as acquisitions, licenses & collaborations. The Project Director reports directly to the CVP and always keeps the GDD leadership in the loop with updates. Your main responsibilities will be to: Support discussions along with key functions in the context of due diligence including with potential partners Provide on-time and high-quality due diligence assessments to Research & Early Development (R&ED) and GDD leadership teams in collaboration with subject of matter experts Represent GDD and work closely with Business Development in the preparation of business cases Upon deal completion, secure timely and seamless transfer and hand-over to internal GDD organization Lead build-up of Due Diligence capabilities in the GDD organization Qualifications PhD in e.g., Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology or similar Minimum 10 years relevant experience in drug discovery and project management of drug development projects Experience with leading cross-functional projects Business understanding within R&D and in-depth knowledge of drug discovery processes Previous experience with Due Diligence and related external projects is a plus About the Department The department is anchored in Early Innovation, Outreach & Alliances within Global Drug Discovery, Novo Nordisk A/S. In close collaboration with our colleagues across GDD and business development, we are focusing on accessing and managing external innovation to become novel treatment options for people living with cardiometabolic diseases. The Early Innovation, Outreach & Alliances area includes multiple departments that support external innovation, namely Innovation Outreach, Seed Investments, Scientific Integration, GDD Due Diligence & Alliance Management. We are a fun and informal team, and we respect and value each other’s differences. Importantly, we all take individual responsibility to help deliver value for Novo Nordisk and novel treatment options to the patients we serve.
