Are you looking for a job where you will be responsible for leading key strategy projects, business processes and provide strategic input to senior management? Then you might be our new Strategy Project Manager in GRT Strategy & Business Support.
About the Department:
GRT Strategy & Business Support is responsible for driving a variety of strategy projects and business processes in Global Research Technologies (GRT) across Global Drug Discovery (GDD) and with key stakeholders in R&D. We are a small dedicated team with a variety of professional backgrounds, ranging from scientific at the PhD level to specific business-oriented specialists. This mix is required to ensure the needed support to all aspects of the early research organisation.
The position:
You will report to the head of GRT Strategy and Business Support and will be responsible for leading a range of key strategy projects and business processes across the research organization and in close collaboration with key stakeholders in R&D Management, R&D Strategy and Portfolio Management and R&D Finance.
The responsibility areas in this position fall into different categories:
You will responsible for leading a project to transform the Global Research Resource Allocation System (GRAS) into a new digital application with strong focus on transparency, resource agility, access to real-time data, access to relevant research project information and analytical/visualization tools to support data driven decisions. In the initial phase, you will reach out and get input to and align on functionalities with key stakeholders across GRT/GDD management, R&D Management, R&D Strategy and Portfolio Management and R&D Finance. You will lead development, implementation and future upgrades of the new GRAS system togethers with your project team, GRAS users and key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for leading the planning and executing of the present bi-annual resource allocation processes in GRT and GDD ensuring clear transparency in supply and demand, adjustments, ad-hoc analysis and ensuring efficient communication and alignment with senior management and key stakeholders across R&D management, R&D Strategy and Portfolio Management and R&D Finance.
In addition to this, the optimal candidate will be involved – as partner to senior management - in driving strategy and business projects/processes across GRT and in collaboration with key stakeholders across the R&D organisation. E.g. analysing existing or future internal/external business and technology opportunities/processes, benchmarking towards external state-of-the-art technologies and solutions, transform input into solution scenarios and facilitate decision making.
This position will have a significant exposure to senior management in GRT/GDD, R&D Strategy and Portfolio Management and senior key stakeholders across R&D.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in life science, natural science or similar, 5 years of experience with the pharmaceutical industry and a natural business acumen. You have experience with leading strategy projects and business processes, preferably from Pharma R&D or other consultancy or corporate organization.
You have strong project management and strategy management skills and you have experience in driving complex projects of a strategic nature involving many key stakeholders up to senior management level.
You are motivated by making data-driven decisions and to successfully do this, you can structure and translate data into knowledge and clear communication and facilitate management decision making.
As a person, you are ambitious, flexible, strong at taking initiative and working independently. You are a strong communicator both written and verbally and able to interact and influence senior management, project managers and line managers through building trusting relationships.
