Description
Thales has been involved in Danish projects since 1991 and has established a formal country office in Denmark since January 1991 with the main office located in Søborg. Today, Thales in Nordic and Baltic countries (Thales-NBCO) employs approx. 1200 people (among which 700 coming from Gemalto).
Locally, Thales provides innovative solutions and advanced technologies within Defence, Ground Transportations and Air Traffic Management.
In 2012, Banedanmark (BDK), the Danish rail infrastructure, awarded a consortium composed of Thales and Strukton Rail with a contract to upgrade the Signaling system in Jutland, the Western part of Denmark (approx. 1.200 km of the Danish railway network) to the new European ETCS Level 2 system. Since then, Thales in Denmark has been working on the design and building of the system in close cooperation with Strukton Rail and Thales peers in Germany. Internally, the program is called the ‘F-Bane West program’ and deployment phase will be followed by a maintenance phase by 2023.
We are currently looking for a Test and Commissioning Project Manager to join Thales Denmark A/S. The role is full-time and permanent. The overall delivery programme is divided into 12 roll out lines each forming its own project. Reporting to the Test & Commissioning Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of activities and project within the Test and Commissioning team
We imagine that you are an experienced delivery/project manager and if you have experience from signalling and rail projects it is a plus. With your background and experience as delivery/project manager you will have a unique opportunity to take on a key role in successfully delivering the project.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Scheduling activities for minor projects (roll outs/ detailed commissioning planning)
Creating Test documentation (SIT/SAT plans, schedules and reports) in corporation with the on-site Test leader. (according to the T&C process and templates)
Participating in Roll Out project/ commissioning activities and meetings
Coordination meeting with customer
Planning and execution oftests activities
Resource planning
Reporting progress and KPI’s
Defect Management
Situation/ incident management
Spare part management within T&C in respect to commissioning activities
Budget planning and control
Conduction Gate Review meetings
Test Record Quality Assurance
Risk Management
Commissioning coordination
Post commissioning follow up on activities
Experience and skills
Experience in delivery/project management
Strong people management skills
Experience with rail commissioning process
Experience of a complex multi-disciplinary, multi-site organisation
Extensive Customer and stakeholders management
Very good communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of railway operation and signalling principles is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Danish or German are considered a plus
