Project Manager - from contract signing to commercial launch


Fertin Pharma’s mission is to support healthier living. We do this by offering the most pleasurable, convenient and effective formats for oral delivery of active and functional ingredients. Based on a solid background in the Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) category, where we for 20+ years have developed and manufactured chewing gum for smoking cessation, we have diversified the business to encompass not only gums, but a range of oral formats, and not only nicotine, but a a wide variety of actives. We have also expanded outside the pharma space to pursue opportunities in nutraceuticals. Fertin operates as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) and as such, is working BtB with some of the largest pharma and nutraceutical companies in the world, developing and supplying products to be marketed and sold under their iconic brands.

In order to ensure seamless execution of the many new opportunities we are now looking for an experienced Project Manager, who can lead the project execution from contract signing to commercial launch.

The Project Manager will be responsible for scoping, planning and executing projects. In most cases, this will be larger and/or more complex projects with deliverables from across the organization. Smaller projects are headed by project managers who normally sit with responsibility for a functional delivery in the larger and/or more complex projects.

Business Development works with project managers from R&D to develop customer offers. When a customer accepts an offer, the Project Manager receives a handover and takes over responsibility for executing the project in accordance with the Fertin Stage-Gate Model and together with the assigned project team. The Project Manager reports to the VP of Business Development, Sales and Marketing, but within the project to a steering committee appointed to each project.

On top of the project management responsibility, the Project Manager will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously fine-tuning the Fertin Stage-Gate Model to ensure that our execution never hinders our mission to support healthier living.

The ideal candidate has a technical background coupled with sound commercial thinking. You have received formal training in project management, which has provided you a solid platform on which you have developed a proven track record of managing projects in a technical setting. And not least, you must have a can-do attitude and an inherent will to succeed – and a certain knack of managing people and teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects through the Fertin Stage-Gate Model

• Secure teamwork and planned progress to meet technical and commercial targets

• Challenge and validate input to ensure “best solution”

• Ensure coordination of workstreams and inter-dependencies

• Keep Steering Committee informed about progress, key risks and mitigation, etc.

• Prepare and conduct gate meetings

• Manage and fine-tune Fertin Commercialization Process on behalf of Business Process Owner (VP of Business Development, Sales and Marketing)

Required Experience & competencies:

• Engineering degree or similar

• ~5 years of experience from relevant positions

• Project management certification

• Experience with managing cross-functional projects in a technical setting

• Experience from pharma or food is a plus

• You are fluent in written and spoken English.
