Are you our new European Finance Business Process Owner? Svitzer, one of the 5 brands within Maersk Transport and Logistics, is looking for a European Finance Business Process Owner to join our regional finance team in our European Head Office in Copenhagen Esplanaden office. The European Finance Team monitors and controls finance and financial reporting for more than 1,000 employees and 126 vessels operating across Europe to service our customers in ports and terminals.

This role has the opportunity to travel within European region to support of our finance teams across European region and to contribute in a global ERP system implementation.

Key responsibilities

As European Finance Business Process Owner, you will be working closely with colleagues in the Svitzer European Regional Office as well as Svitzer Head office also in Copenhagen, to deliver on the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Drive the implementation of newly redefined finance processes as a result of the Global Svitzer ERP system implementation
• Liaise with European finance teams and coordinate the design and implementation of processes with other functional areas, e.g. Procurement, Commercial, HR, IT, Tax, etc.
• Continuously optimize and standardize finance processes to align across our organisation and strengthen Svitzer’s control environment to support business needs as well as regulatory and group compliance requirements
• Define process performance measures and target, and manage monitoring of process performance including identification of control gaps and facilitate timely remediation plans
• Support Svitzer’s European organisation with sustainability reporting

• Support Global Delegation of Authority and Expense management

• Support control framework, with input to global standard operating procedures (‘SOPs’), instructions, templates, etc.
• Serve as key liaison between Svitzer’s finance organisation and relevant internal and external auditors for control environment
• Liaise with Global Service Centre in Pune, India
• Drive or support various ad hoc regional projects or support global projects

We are looking for

You are an energetic, analytical and experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment and who can manage ensuring high quality deliverables based on input from various stakeholders while meeting deadlines.

You have good interpersonal and communication skills. Essential to your success in this role is your ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across various levels and functions of the Svitzer organisation.

You are committed to supporting our European organisation and enjoy taking ownership and responsibility for driving process improvements and efficient finance processes to ensure an effective internal control environment.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant Master Degree in Accounting, Auditing or Finance and comes with 3-5 years of professional experience or 3-5 years’ experience working with process design/process mapping in areas such as Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Fixed Assets Management and Hire-to-Retire.

You preferably have in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing system process controls within financial and operational areas and come with a business oriented mind-set.

You have a good understanding of IT and acknowledge that IT is an integrated part of all business processes
As our corporate language is English, you must be fluent in both oral and written English. Danish is not a requirement for this position.

You have flexibility to travel mainly across Europe, maximum 20 travel days per year.

You must hold a valid Danish residence and work permit.
