Hi, my name is Matthijs Schot, I am CFO for Svitzer Europe. I head a team of 19 finance

professionals across five countries, and currently we are looking for a new student assistant to join our team in Copenhagen. If you bright, ambitious, eager to learn, and well underway with a relevant master’s education, you might be the one we are looking for.

The European Finance Team provides consolidated financials, controlling and reporting

covering more than 1,000 employees and 126 vessels across Europe. In addition, we deliver decision making support through business partnering for a range of other business functions.

… an exciting part-time position where you become part of a collaborative, experienced and diverse pan-European Finance Team. You will be working alongside colleagues from other functional areas such as Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Technical and HR, and with our Finance Shared Service Centre in India. As a Student Assistant at Svitzer you will also join Maersk’s vibrant student community.

Key responsibilities

You will support the European Finance Team on different day to day tasks and financial analysis. You will be contributing in various ways across the following areas:

• Internal controls, Vendor Master Data management, sustainability reporting, financial investigations and analysis, and project management
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
• Forecasting processes, financial modelling, and ensuring high data quality

We are looking for

• You know your way around a spread sheet and a business case
• You are a quick and eager learner
• You have business acumen, a good eye for details, and a talent for numbers
• You possess effective communication skills and are comfortable working in English.

You are a hands-on person, not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and supporting the team in getting critical tasks done on time
