About Femern Link Contractors

The Fehmarnbelt Connection is one of Europe's most comprehensive construction projects ever. It is run by an organization of close to 500 staff building the world’s longest immersed tunnel and the longest tunnel for both road and rail traffic. It will consist of a motorway and rail connection including an 18 km long tunnel that will allow travelling faster and safer between Scandinavia and continental Europe. It will take less than 3 hours to travel by train between Hamburg & Copenhagen (currently, 4½ hours).

Appointed by the owner, Femern A/S, Femern Link Contractors (FLC), is the Joint Venture in charge of the Design & Construction of the immersed tunnel, including the tunnel portals and ramps. The Joint Venture is constituted by a series of international civil works companies - all with individual experience in major infrastructure projects.
FLC’s joint venture partners are all committed to jointly cooperate to deliver a state-of-the-art immersed tunnel, portals & ramps that is timely and safely executed, in a sustainable and ethical manner.

For FLC, Landau Headhunting is now looking for an experienced and insightful Cost Controller to support the cost management for the entire company.

The Job

As FLC’s Cost Controller you will have a challenging and independent job in an informal and international working environment. You will be working in interdisciplinary teams, where you can always count on support from committed colleagues.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Control and monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing, deliveries and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors of all costs related to appointed Cost Centers.
• Collaborate with Section/Block Manager to update the progress and explain discrepancies.
• Propose necessary action plan against possible cost deviations.
• Follow the various processes set forth and agreed in the Cost Control GMP cap.
• Prepare a budget and its associated revisions later together with the Planning Engineer, Purchase Officer and Section/Block Manager responsible for the specific group of Cost Centers.
• Handle the budget calculation and cost control into the integrated software RIB iTWO.
• Ensure that the Monthly Cost Control Report is issued in a timely manner with all deviations explained in an agreed manner with the Cost Control Manager.
• Provide cost controlling support to the allocated Section Manager which includes variations reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc.
• Coordinate and work with the project controls team to resolve project issues ensuring the delivery/completion of the project work.
  

Your Skills & Experience

Being the ideal candidate, we presume that you possess the following qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training.
• Min. 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably from construction industry, including strong capacity in project estimation and cost controlling.
• Technically strong in project cost planning and reporting and Excel expert.
• Knowledge in the use of RIB iTWO software is highly advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Meticulous with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fast worker with the ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.

The job requires that you are fluent in English and German, both verbal and written.
At a personal level, we are searching for a structured person with a fair amount of cross-cultural understanding. We expect you to have a curious and inquisitive mindset and a natural interest and eager to always look for better solutions.

Conditions of Employment

The role is ideally situated in Fehmarn full time but can also be divided as follows: Fehmarn office 3 days a week / Rødby office 2 days a week. In any case, we expect you to be very flexible and to be able to work at different places (Rødby, Copenhagen, Fehmarn).

FLC offers attractive employment conditions on a permanent German contract according to German Labor Law.
