Purpose

The purpose of the financial accountant is to help the Americas accounting team ensure the accuracy and completeness of the subsidiary ledger and general ledger, in accordance with US GAAP. In addition, they reconcile account balances at the end of each reporting period and assist with month and year-end close.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare general ledger journal entries, and assist with month-end close procedures
• Perform accounts payable functions including coding of invoices, expense report review and approval, and general ledger recording of A/P transactions
• Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
• Assist with vendor relationships and inquiries
• Work with accounts receivable to book customer training invoices
• Assist Payroll and Commissions Specialist with semi-month payroll duties
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks/projects as needed, flexible and willing to assist other team members when needed
• Assist with process documentation, improvement, and automation
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• Flexible and adaptable to new projects & assignments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates a strong moral and ethical code
• An enthusiastic team-player who leads by example
• Demonstrates general business acumen with an analytical mindset
• A problem-solver who welcomes challenges in improving existing processes
• CPA Candidate is a plus

The annual salary for this position ranges from $57,742 to $110,000 with most candidates falling in the $68,504 to $87,241 range. Pay is based on the level, location, complexity, responsibility, and job duties of the specific position and is just one component of Milestone’s total compensation package. Additionally, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes medical/dental benefits, FSA or HSA, 401k with 6% Safe Harbor employer match, paid parental leave, generous PTO (20 days' vacation, 10 days paid sick time, and 10 company holidays), fully paid Short Term disability policy, fully paid Long Term disability policy, and Life Insurance.
