Financial controller in Corporate Accounting
We are looking for a financial controller with an accounting background, who will build a good understanding of our SAP system and run consolidation processes together with the team. The ideal candidate should be excited about details but should also be able to keep the overview when matters get complicated.
We expect you to have an excellent team spirit and an ambition to continue improving Novo Nordisk accounting by optimising our processes and implementing new tools and systems.
About the department
Consolidated Reporting is part of Corporate Accounting and comprises fourteen employees, divided into two teams; Team Consolidation and Team External Reporting.
The department enforces the Novo Nordisk group accounting policies and practices with no surprises. We are responsible for utilising our centre of excellence within accounting in compliance with IFRS, consolidation and closing processes, preparation of the Novo Nordisk Annual Report and financial statements. The goal for the department is to “be ahead of compliance” by proactively being on the forefront when it comes to changes in the accounting environment as well as in the business of Novo Nordisk.
The position
As Financial Controller your responsibilities will be to ensure correct and timely monthly consolidation processes while keeping a broad dialogue with our many affiliates. You will join a well-established team with stable processes who is responsible for the consolidation at the corporate level of Novo Nordisk. You will also be in close collaboration with several corporate functions such as tax, treasury and our controlling unit as well as many of our 100 affiliates.
You will be in charge of several improvement projects to optimise our processes in the department but also in the global finance organisation.
You will also play an important role in the upgrade of Novo Nordisk SAP system. You will work together with the IT organisation and other parts of the finance organisation to assess the current setup and processes before a major upgrade of our SAP system in the coming years.
As we aim to be true business partners by linking finance with business development, we expect you to invest time and effort in understanding the business environment in which Novo Nordisk operates.
Qualifications
We prefer a candidate with 1-3 years of experience with SAP, consolidation and inventory accounting and/or a profound interest to learn about this. Most likely, you have a master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar.
Furthermore, you have strong analytical skills, an engaging personality and high level of independence for your tasks and projects. You have good communication and stakeholder management skills together with a good cultural awareness and sense of humour.
In addition to being fluent in written and spoken English, you should also be a proficient user of IT tools such as ERP system, MS office and data analytic tools and ready to invest both time and effort in your personal and professional development.
These traits allow you to contribute proactively to our team with ideas and initiatives. The ideal candidate strives to develop a financial career within the global organisation.
