On behalf of Mariager Salt Specialties A/S, randstad is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager for their Danish site located in Mariager.
With direct reference to the Group Finance Manager of Groupe Salins, you will be responsible for financial accounting in Denmark and Sweden, including leading a team of 3 financial assistants and in close collaboration with the Group establishing a sustainable way of working.

your responsibilities and tasks


- Responsible for building up the finance accounting department for the Nordics (team and processes)
- Be hands-on in the daily work and responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual closes in statutory accounts and in French GAAP
- Implement all Group accounting rules
- Manage internal controls and coordinate with external auditors for statutory financial reporting and coordination with local tax authorities
- Responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, GL and treasury department
- Ensure collaboration with the controlling department as well as other parts of the business
- Liaise with local regulators and authorities
- Manage performance reviews, training programs, and career development for the accounting team

To succeed, you will work closely together with the Business & Plant Controllers located in Sweden, the new Financial Accounting Manager in The Netherlands and your financial accounting colleagues in France.

your profile


It is important that you have experience from working in a large, international company, so that you are familiar with internal controls rules and preferably, also have the capacity to switch between different GAAPs.

Besides that, you meet the following criteria:

- Min. 7-10 years of working experience, preferably with strong leadership skills gained in an accounting environment
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Chartered Accounting qualification or equivalent
- Knowledge of accounting standards in IFRS and French GAAP
- Experience with SAP
- A strong communicator in Danish and English, both verbally and in writing, knowledge of French is a plus

As a person, you are outgoing and can commit professionally in relations with stakeholders, and you are not afraid to reach out to others for information. You are robust, able to make decisions quickly, and have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects. You are very cooperative, but also able to work independently and lead a team.

Mariager Salt Specialties is on a journey where they are building up their new independent structure, and not all processes are aligned yet. Therefore, it is important that you are flexible, solution-oriented, and ready to become the leader of a completely new team.

Mariager Salt Specialties A/S in Mariager packs and sends approx. 300,000 tons of salt yearly produced by Dansk Salt A/S, who is the only producer in Scandinavia of high "vacuum salt". Every day, the site in Mariager is securing supplies to global pharma clients and the Scandinavian food and feed industry in collaboration with their new French owners Groupe Salins.

The site in Mariager is known for being a front-runner and is very solutions-oriented when it comes to testing new concepts from both a management and technological point of view. A position that was strengthened in 2020, which is important for a small site in an international group.
