A part of the Finance team, which consists of 8 finance professionals, including Accountants, Controllers, a Student Assistant, and the Head of Team. The team delivers financial administration and support to the whole organization. MS has a broad palette of funding streams and donor regulations such as Danida and the EU, income from donors, operation of cafes, hostels, meeting room rentals and much more, which means the tasks in the finance team are very diverse. As Controller you will be involved in many aspects of the economy of the organization and of financial administration and controlling.
In this role, you will be:
You will be the finance focal point for an international and diverse group of colleagues within the teams assigned to you. The 3 Controllers will be responsible for each their designated teams. Your primary tasks will be the following:
Support and quality control teams in financial administration
- Developing and maintaining financial procedures and descriptions.
- Ensuring that budgetholders know their roles.
- Maintaining and developing tools (for instance using our BI-system)
- Follow up and conducting meetings with budget-responsible.
- Quality review budgets prior to submitting applications.
Lead reporting procedures within your assigned areas
- Preparing monthly reporting related to own teams.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant donor regulations.
- Preparing financial donor reports and liaising with the auditors.
- Perform month-end tasks such as reconciliations, controlling and posting of time registrations.
You will be reporting directly to the Head of Finance, and you will be carrying out additional tasks depending on your specialties. These tasks will be defined during your start-up period.
Qualification requirements
We expect that you:
- Have a relevant educational background such a Master of Economy, HD, Cand Merc or similar with a focus on accounting and controlling.
- Have minimum 1 year of relevant working experience with controlling and a solid understanding of accounting as the base of controlling and reporting.
- Sees it as a positive challenge to develop improved reporting tools meeting the needs of the users.
- Are quality conscious and takes responsibility while leading new initiatives.
- Thrive with a combination of recurrent and development tasks.
- Hold knowledge and experience with Excel and ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, Navision).
- Are fully proficient in oral and written English and intermediate in Danish.

- A temporary position in a maternity cover position; 12 months
