Do you know “the ins and out’s” of inventory accounting, do you excel in analyzing complex data and linking these to our operational performance? And are you the natural go-to-person for colleagues who need to understand the development in group profitability and inventory valuation?
With a growing business and a global value chain, we are looking for an experienced colleague who can maintain a global overview of our inventories and cost of goods sold; while at the same time understand the underlying elements, how they interact and the accounting implications as well as our systems and transactions, including the way we manufacture and distribute our products.
Welcome to Group Finance
We are a Group Finance organization located at the headquarter in Denmark with a little more than 50 great colleagues, including Financial Reporting & Compliance, Business Finance, FP&A, Group Tax, Group Treasury and Financial Systems. Globally, we have +600 finance colleagues including approximately 150 finance colleagues in our Shared Service Center in Poland.
You will join the Financial Reporting & Compliance team that among others has the responsibility for consolidation and reporting of group figures. You will work closely with the manufacturing companies in the Group and with Operational Finance (part of Business Finance), especially the finance business partners for Global Operations.

Tasks and responsibilities
You will be responsible for reporting, financial controlling, etc. of the global inventory and cost of goods sold, and be our expert in analyzing variances and financial impacts from operational activities, changes to our supply chains etc. You will collaborate with controllers of other areas to further improve our processes and reporting.
You can look forward to some of the main responsibilities below:
In addition to the above, you will as part of the Group Financial Reporting & Compliance team also have other financial controlling responsibilities than inventory and costs of goods sold, including participation in the month/quarter/year-end closing processes as well as preparation of Demant’s Annual Report.
You should expect approximately 10 travel days yearly.

Currently you might find yourself working in a similar role in another global company, where you have gained significant experience working with inventory and costs of goods sold. It is in your nature to explore and understand data and to dive into the underlying elements when necessary to understand the bigger picture. Furthermore, you have a data driven mindset, you have a good understanding and overview of accounting regulation (IFRS, ideally) and you appreciate the importance of structure and governance.

You will be responsible for reporting, financial controlling, etc. of the global inventory and cost of goods sold, and be our expert in analyzing variances and financial impacts from operational activities, changes to our supply chains etc. You will collaborate with controllers of other areas to further improve our processes and reporting.
You can look forward to some of the main responsibilities below:
- Fully understanding the consolidation and elimination processes for inventory and cost of goods sold.
- Ensure correct and appropriate reporting of inventory and costs of goods sold in accordance with our accounting policies and support our local finance teams in this regard.
- Ensuring stable reporting processes and a good understanding of our reported figures. This includes preparing and controlling our intra-group profit eliminations.
- Establishing a roadmap of improvement initiatives in collaboration with Global Operations and manufacturing entities.
- Participate in projects related to a new consolidation system and replacement of local ERP solutions to ensure that the systems are setup to report correctly for your area, as well as other projects related to inventories and/or cost of goods sold.
In addition to the above, you will as part of the Group Financial Reporting & Compliance team also have other financial controlling responsibilities than inventory and costs of goods sold, including participation in the month/quarter/year-end closing processes as well as preparation of Demant’s Annual Report.
