SENIOR ASSOCIATE - ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS - INTERIM 8 MONTHS

On behalf of leading international biotech company in Copenhagen we are looking for an interim consultant who will be able to combine a hands-on approach to the daily accounting activities while at the same time have the ability to work strategically and holistically with the financials.
This is a key position within the Accounting Operations Teams and a great opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and ambitious accounting professional. You will be working in a highly motivated team of experienced finance professionals in an organization where we value innovation, determination, integrity, and teamwork. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Accounting Europe based in DK and you will be part of a large Global Finance team.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Prepare VAT & EU sales reporting to the government authorities, in coordination with KPMG & Tax department
- Be the focal point in coordinating with KMPG and the Tax department regarding the Corporate Income Tax returns
- Follow closing procedures and help a smooth process on monthly basis for the areas under responsibility
- Ensure accruals are booked correctly on monthly basis
- Participate in internal and external audit reviews as needed, and fulfill audit data requests
- Perform global accounting procedures for specified technical areas, which will be assigned on a rotational basis
- Prepare high level designated account reconciliations and analysis
- Closely follow up on the open items and ensure to have clean recons on continuous basis
- Ensure governmental statistical reporting requirements are met
- Support the Senior Manager with several account analysis, equity changes understanding and reconciliation, as well as creating simplified financial statements for internal use purposes
Requirements
Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:
- BA or BS mandatory, CPA (Certified public accountant), CA (Certified accountant) and/or MBA preferred
- 6+ years of experience in public accounting and accounting in a multinational environment
- Desire to learn and implement new accounting pronouncements and requirements, and develop technical skill set
- Thrive in a cross-functional role and strong attention to detail
- Strong technical accounting skills and understanding disclosure requirements•SAP knowledge is strongly desired, but not a must
- Excellent business acumen, with strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Danish (Reporting to SKAT is in Danish)
- Strong reporting and internal controlling skills are needed as well as the ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
- Strong analytic skills with the ability to review financial analyses, account reconciliations and identify potential issues are needed
