Steen & Strøm is a leading player in the operation and development of shopping centers in Scandinavia and part of one of Europe's leading owners and operators, Klépierre.

As a Business Controller, you will be focusing on business partnering through follow-up, analysis and monitoring of ours – and our tenants’ – costs/service charges, investments and projects. Hence, you will work in close collaboration with our Operations (Asset-, Leasing- and Construction managers) and Management team, of our 10 Shopping Centers in Scandinavia. The position will be with reference to our Head of Controlling Scandinavia and you will be a part of a professional, ambitious and co-operative business control team covering Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

About the position

You will be responsible, and assume ownership of, the ongoing tasks of our controlling of Site budgets (charges) and Projects/Capex, including facilitation and presentation of budget processes, follow up, analysis etc. for ensuring relevant reporting within agreed deadlines, and you will help develop, streamline and optimize internal processes, as well as providing a bridge between our Site budgets and the impact for us as an owner and for our tenants. In addition, your work tasks include:

  • Lead and facilitate budget processes, incl. presentation, updates and follow up for Site budgets and Projects covering Scandinavia in co-operation with the country Center teams and Charges officers as well as our budget and follow-up processes for our Management companies (payroll and intercompany fees)
  • Ongoing controlling including analysis of recoverable and non-recoverable charges and works, budget deficit (owner costs/result of our settlements) and Ad hoc analyzes (i.e. benchmarks), suggest improvements and follow up
  • Prepare and manage operational, financial and analytical cost performance reporting, on a quarterly basis
  • Anchor in costs analyses, controls and reporting during quarterly closings, securing a correct PnL, hence explaining main cost drivers and the evolution vs last year, budget and forecasts
  • Ad-hoc analyses and requests
  • Key user of BI-reports


  • You speak and write in English effortlessly. Furthermore, you are very experienced in Excel, and preferably with SAP experience.

    You will be located in our Danish office in Field’s Shopping center together with Finance team.

    The right candidate

    You have a degree in Business and Administration, and some years of practical experience with business controlling.

    You have experience with complex financial tasks, good analytical sense, strong business acumen and not least, the ability to connect the dots between financial and operational performance. You also understand international business and financial management.

    You are proactive and independent and want to develop and optimize processes and workflows. In addition, you are:

    • Very structured, organized and with at high sense of detail

    • Strong communication and stakeholder skills

    • Analytical

    • Curious and with a huge drive

    • Have a good business sense and a good overview

    • Independent, dynamic and adaptable
