In the Danish division in Herning they are currently more than 130 employees and expect to continue a significant growth in the coming years. The company is a global frontrunner when it comes to the development and production of hydrogen fueling stations. The market for hydrogen stations will maintain its growth in the coming years, as large-scale production of hydrogen cars, busses and trucks will be launched in the coming years.
Purpose of the role:
The new Sales and Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining of relationships with regional customers and new prospects and creating of new business opportunities meeting Nel Hydrogen’s (Nel) overall strategy. The SBM will be the key driver within Nel to generate and harvest business results in the specified countries/region(s) for Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS).
About the job position:
The SBM should focus on Central Europe identifying/building and maintaining relationship with key decision makers and influencers within the E-mobility market for hydrogen.
Business intelligence:
You are expected to proactively monitor and identify Business Intelligence information from the marketplace, medias, customers, competitive announcement, support schemes such as funding, incentive programs and order tracking, market numbers etc. related to your market.

About the job position:
The SBM should focus on Central Europe identifying/building and maintaining relationship with key decision makers and influencers within the E-mobility market for hydrogen.
- The ability of networking is a key element in this role and thereby you should be able to work with and influence stakeholders/decision makers in the market.
- Screening and prioritizing of customer inquiries (RFI’s and RFQ’s) from existing as well as new customer prospects and align it with Nel’s Sales Support function and Sales Management is essential.
- Respond to customers questions, inquires, reply to emails, respond to phone calls from customers ensuring an excellent customer satisfaction.
- Manage a clear strategy for selected customers (one or two strategic customers should be expected) to meet overall expectations for timely negotiations and closing of agreements by understanding the customers internal decision processes.
- Participate in relevant exhibitions, conferences, and fairs.
- Play an integral role between the customer and the internal Nel stakeholders/divisions, and by that becoming the customers ambassador within Nel.
- Arrange cross regional customer calls/meetings to ensure optimal appreciation of designated customers expectations and goals.
- Together with Sales Management align and maintain internal organization with customers organization (RASCI) to ensure smooth communication, be in control, be informed and set the scene (meeting sequence, frequency etc.) without being a bottleneck yourself.
- Assist in preparing relevant documentation to obtain management approval, hereunder memos, risk assessments, analysis, announcements etc.
- The SBM is expected, within the overall business strategy for Fueling, to execute short as well as long term goals and feed information back into the Nel organization ensuring the technology roadmap meets market expectations for the future.
- The work base will be at the regional office in Vienna, Austria.
Business intelligence:
You are expected to proactively monitor and identify Business Intelligence information from the marketplace, medias, customers, competitive announcement, support schemes such as funding, incentive programs and order tracking, market numbers etc. related to your market.
Your tasks also include:
- Building and maintaining of CRM profiles incl. relevant sales leads, Business Intelligence (BI), analysis, strategies, meeting reports, KPIs and ensure Sales Management is kept updated in real time (e.g. through KPI Dashboards) supported by NEL’s Sales Support function.
- Ensure that the defined sales process is followed and facilitate budget- and firm quotations, Status and Kick-off meetings ensuring all stakeholders are motivated and engaged. The SBM will be responsible for supervising the process ensuring timely delivery by each stakeholder.
- Timely collection and communication of forecast numbers allowing the management team to plan relevant production slots and base for the budget process.
- Travel activities must be expected to be at the level of up to 85 days per year.
Qualifications:
- Relevant educational background would be a Bachelor/Master’s degree in engineering with a commercial mindset, and it is critical that you have documented experience from a similar technical external sales position for instance from the oil & gas or wind industry.
- Experience with Microsoft office, CRM and with ERP systems (preferably Navision).
- You speak and write English fluently and as a minimum also speak German.
- As a person you are openminded and able to interact with colleagues and external partners and customers. You demonstrate great patience and confidence and knows how important it is to follow up on deliverables, ensuring that everything runs according to plans. You act with integrity and common sense and display strong verbal and written communication skills. We believe that understanding and delivering on the customers needs is what enables the success, so you rely on your strong listening skills to understand what customers need and to provide adequate support when discussing business related topics.
