Better Insect Solutions

Better Insect Solutions (BIS) is a concept and solution hub of the Big Dutchman Group comprising the sister companies: Big Dutchman, INNO+ and SKOV. For decades, these companies have provided cost-efficient and robust solutions for a wide range of technologies applied in animal farming.

Since 2020, BIS has been in operation within the insect farming sector bringing proven technology solutions of the Big Dutchman Group to market. Our portfolio covers buildings, climate systems, air cleaning, heat recovery, feeding systems, frass handling, breeding systems and management systems. All are supported by our extensive know-how of animal and insect farming and offered in collaboration with key logistics and processing partners forming an end-to-end solution.

Currently the BIS team consists of 6 persons, with the responsibility of project sales, project management, business development, and biological test and development.

Our solutions for robust large-scale insect production have been implemented at several international customers. Currently, our largest project under execution is an annual production of 36.000-ton BSF larvae covering a production area of 25.000 m2 to be inaugurated by mid-2023.

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a Chinese speaking, experienced key account manager to execute on our commercial strategy with main focus on China and Asia. The position will be a part of the BIS headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, but your location can be anywhere in Europe.

As Key Account Manager, you will personally assume the full responsibility for the sales process towards selected potential customers. In close cooperation with the BIS team and the internal teams of the affiliated BIS companies you will present project solutions leading up to contract signature.

During the sales process you are accountable for a high degree of transparency and manage all stakeholders in the project. After signature, it is your responsibility to hand over the project to delivery project management who will lead the implementation in adherence to the contract, with you as support on the commercial side.

Responsibilities

  • Head the commercial activities and execute project sales in close cooperation with the regional offices of the BIS companies as well as the internal BIS teams.
  • Develop relationships with a portfolio of existing key customers in China and in the Asia region.
  • Approach and attract new customers and generate long-term customer relationships that will turn into new sales.
  • Secure a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements and demonstrate how the BIS solutions will support and ensure customer success.
  • Maintain a strict pipeline management, report sales forecasts and budgets.

Qualification and Experience

  • Fluent in Mandarin and deep insight into Chinese and Asian cultures.
  • Experience in high value project sales, providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent in problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Technical background e.g. from agriculture or engineering.
  • Comfortable with travelling internationally over longer periods.
