Ambitious Space Company is looking for a new Proposal Manager

In recent years, increasingly affordable access to global data from space is driving a new frontier for commercial service providers within climate data, earth observation, signal intelligence, IOT asset tracking and new communication services. Bring your business and organizational skills to help manage program proposals that win major satellite contracts within our academic, corporate and government client base.

GomSpace has an immediate opening for a Proposal Manager, based in Aalborg, Denmark, where you’ll report to our of Head of Proposal Management and join a dedicated international team that provides exceptional Nanosatellite solutions to customers in 60+ countries across the globe.

GomSpace Proposal Managers work closely with our regional Sales Managers to understand each customer’s unique position and requirements. As a Proposal Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the activities of proposal teams with participants from various departments and the integration of their input into the proposal development process.

Experience with proposal writing and coordination is mandatory, as these are key functions.

Your responsibility will cover:

  • Managing proposal teams to prepare and submit winning proposals
  • Taking ownership of the full proposal process and coordinating proposal writing process with the bid team, including: documentation, inputs, risk analysis, reviews and final proposal
  • Following GomSpace standard procedures and governance
  • Coordinating sales input for and participating in running BidReview meetings

The Job Incluces the following set of tasks:

  • Evaluating incoming customer requirements and respective capture plans prior to voting on Bid/NoBid decisions
  • Preparing & executing bid and project review meetings, delivering minutes of meetings and file outputs
  • Preparing proposal documents and integrating inputs from bid teams into proposals.
  • Integrating cost inputs from bid teams into the GomSpace Project Cost Model and client documentation formats when required
  • Proofreading and checking compliance of final proposals prior to submissions
  • Maintenance and improvement of our proposal templates, process and reference materials
  • Attendance at relevant industry conferences and customer meetings, represention GomSpace and building market knowledge

We expect the employee to have the following qualifications:

  • Experience with corporate, B2B sales (preferably international) or proposal coordination with a clear flair for good customer communication
  • Good networking and coordination skills, ability to work and plan towards a deadline in an agile world of 2-weeks sprint cycles
  • Detail and process oriented, but pragmatic enough to meet deadlines
  • Project management skills are a strong plus, an aptitude for understanding and collecting technical information will help you co-write succinct proposals
  • Ability to combine and summarize information from multiple teams to into a well-crafted value propositions targeted to each customer’s formal requirements
  • Ability to organize and structure follow up with contributors, integrating inputs from different disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • An aerospace background is an advantage but not a requirement
