In Maersk Specials we have initiated an aggressive growth journey to become the preferred integrator of logistics within our verticals of Aid & Relief, Government, Projects & Air Charter. You will join a ground-breaking team of experts serving our customers in a truly customer centric vertical within Maersk.
Key responsibilities
As Sales Manager Specials Europe, you will become an integral part of our journey to expand the Specials footprint in Europe. You will be responsible for driving and expanding the addiction to growth in the sales team by staying on top of business signals and guiding the team to secure short and long-term opportunities. Furthermore, you leverage the understanding of the local business environment to support development of the expand strategy for Specials in Europe region.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Delivering Revenue and Gross Profit targets for Europe within our verticals of Aid & Relief, Government, Projects & Air Charter
• Managing our sales pipeline, segmentation, and preparing for accurate forecasting
• Driving our niche products within the Maersk Group of companies
• Developing local differentiators and formulating a business plan to support target delivery
• Monitoring performance against KPIs and take corrective action where necessary
• Ensuring sales systems and reporting are up to date for analysis and planning
• Managing and coaching a team of individuals to optimize performance, including building competencies and developing our way of working
• Partnering with the Specials Operations team to further enhance collaboration and facilitate cooperation between the teams providing an exemplary customer experience and additional sales.
Your team will consist of 4 Sales Executives as well as Sales Support Representative but with a plan to increase the team. As manager your responsibilities will also include developing the sales competencies of your team and, accordingly, identify strengths and weaknesses on an individual basis. It will be your task to maintain a strong team through development of existing team but also through recruitment of new sales talent internally as well as externally to cater for the ambitious growth plan. It’s part of your personality to keep up to date with the market and see upcoming trends – and act accordingly.
You will also be managing sales support and assisting in building individual customer strategies, including identification of up-selling opportunities. You will be maintaining relationships with top accounts and participate in sales calls as you will also be maintaining relationships with other Maersk sales channels managers to facilitate best practice sharing and cross trade sales.
We are looking for
You have a solid understanding of 1 or more of the verticals served and understand their specific customer drivers. Furthermore, it is expected that you have knowledge of our competitors and industry trends in the verticals.
With a truly customer centric focus you strive to create value in our customer’s supply chain and hence experience from logistics as well as shipping is crucial.
You have a proven track record as successful leader and as sales executive. Being addicted to growth, you successfully engage others to achieve their goals. You have good coaching skills and you are able to attract and retain strong sales talent.
Furthermore, you are:
• Decisive, competitive and has a sense of urgency and results – thereby delivering objectives and increasing business performance
• A leader that inspires, motivates, coaches and collaborates and thereby drives the necessary changes in both process and organization
• An initiator with excellent skills in relationship and management
