The job:
We are looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) to join our Health Care Content (HCC) Team in the Nordics. This is an exciting time to be joining a rapidly growing team, with the chance to make a real contribution to the fight against COVID-19.
As TSS you will concentrate on growing our Health Care Content (HCC) business within the Nordics, selling our molecular diagnostic solutions to a broad range of markets, including Pharmacogenomics, Genetic Testing and Infectious Diseases. You will have a particular focus on our COVID-19 solutions (q-PCR tests, instruments and associated products). You will be both a key member of the sales team, as well as a technical resource for customers and colleagues across the territory.
You will develop in-depth knowledge of the market, our customers and our competitors and utilize this to identify sales opportunities. You will then forge connections and build relationships with prospective customers to build a strong business pipeline for future growth. You will also maintain relationships with current customers to maintain a good quality of service and foster organic growth.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of selling into private clinical laboratories in addition to Reference Labs and hospitals. You will also need to have a good understanding of gene expression and genotyping workflows, particularly in quantitative PCR, and with working knowledge of next generation sequencing and microarrays.
This is a field-based role which will involve extensive travel across the Nordic countries on a weekly basis (3 to 4 days per week on average, including some overnight stays), with the remainder of your time spent working from home. We can be very flexible on candidate location, but are ideally looking for candidates living anywhere in Sweden or Denmark.

What will you do?
- Develop and manage an annual Territory Plan and quarterly Business Plan to meet or exceed financial goals
- Utilize product and application knowledge across our genetic analysis portfolio to successfully apply consultative and strategic selling presentations
- Understand customer goals, priorities and challenges to provide solutions best positioned to address clinical customer needs
- Focus on high growth areas and markets, and key applications to drive open array-based projects into new emerging markets
- Consistently and accurately manage sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce.com system and other designated IT tools
- Regularly utilize analytics tools and CRM to drive territory success and achieve plan
- Assess sales team training needs and provide market feedback and product development input to internal business partners
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience (Master’s or PhD degree is desirable)
- Several years’ of Life Sciences sales or Field Application Support experience (essential)
- Scientific consulting acumen and able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of qPCR technologies and applications
- Ability to accurately cost projects and speak to workflow advantages to create ROI with customers and sales colleagues
- Accomplished sales skills; able to demonstrate value as a supporting partner in the pre-sales process, while also independently driving sales throughout all stages of the sales process
- Located within the defined geography of the territory
- Willing and able to travel extensively (minimum 50%) on a weekly basis by car, train & airplane, including overnight stays
- Valid, clean driver’s licence
- Fluent in English, plus at least one Nordic language
