About the position
In the role as Global Cargo Sales Manager you will be responsible for defining, implementing and following up on sales initiatives for VIKING’s core products; Liferafts, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Life-Saving Appliances and Services. You will work together with the regional sales executives to achieve our shared mission of saving lives all over the world.
With reference to Sr. Director Global Sales you will be based at headquarters in Esbjerg, Denmark, where you will be part of the Global Sales Team with 20 colleagues. All dedicated to strategic sales initiatives that support VIKING’s global sales force for increasing and maintaining the market shares in our prioritized areas.
It’s preferable that you live nearby Esbjerg, but this position offers the possibility for working remotely. So whether your location is in Denmark or elsewhere in the world, we would like to hear from you. What is most important is that you have commercial experience from a similar position or the industry - and are used to working remotely.
We will, of course, ensure that you receive thorough training and when you are fully on board, the position will offer opportunities for both professional and personal development.

We have a flexible approach to working from home, which is agreed on an individual basis within the framework of the position and current policy.
The role
This role requires flexibility to work across a variety of projects in supporting the sales network, and core tasks will include:
- Supporting regional sales to ensure full scope sales of all VIKING products for the Cargo market
- Follow-up on all NB opportunities related to the Cargo segment and ensure that Owner and Yard sales organizations are in alignment
- Monitor the market situation and product development needs
- Participate in customer meetings and negotiations when requested by the sales regions
- Execute and develop go-to-market approaches and implement these in the sales regions based on market input (from an outside-in perspective)
- Provide input for forecasting
Everything you do will be about supporting our sales network and helping to create a safer world.
Approximately 15-20 global travel days per year must be expected.
Your background
We are looking for a solutions-oriented team player to join our dedicated team. In addition to being fluent in English and preferably also Danish (spoken and written), candidates will need;
- Professional experience from a similar position
- Experience from the shipping or maritime industry, or from a ship management company, would clearly be an advantage, but not a requirement
- A strong commercial mindset and technical flair
- Maybe a higher education in engineering at bachelors or masters level
- To be a team player and capable of working well independently
- A customer oriented, problem solving and flexible attitude
On a personal level, you are proactive, solution-oriented, curious and have a "can do" attitude. In addition, you have a solid business understanding and cannavigate a global organization with many stakeholders.
