ALK is on an ambitious journey to become the preferred allergy company globally. Traditionally, ALK has been a strongly marketing and process driven organization. With a rapidly changing healthcare environment, subsequently leading to increased dynamics within global marketing, there is a need to be more closely linked to the local customer needs and allergy markets. To do so, we need to continue building a strong global ALK Sales Excellence department, with a strong presence and added value through the ALK organization. The initiated sales excellence projects and skills need to be continued and embedded into the global and local organization. To complete our small, but agile team within ALK Commercial Excellence & Global Brand Management, we are looking for a new colleague to join us.

The position

Being the Global Sales Excellence Manager is about driving behavioural change across the global ALK organization. Through initiating and executing sales excellence projects, through building bridges across Global Marketing (GM) functions and departments, and through igniting and embedding a sales excellence mindset. As a Sales Excellence Manager, you create and maintain a knowledge and skills structure, on which we share best sales practices across the global ALK organization. You need to design, support, and execute sales (excellence) related training sessions and workshops, in accordance with the global HR development strategy. By adopting the latest pharmaceutical market insights, you maintain the required relevance and flexibility, including the right fit between physical and virtual marketing and sales activities.

Fields of responsibility

  • Reinforce and optimize the ALK selling and sales operating model (RISE). Coach affiliate sales managers, on-board any future ALK affiliates. Based on needs, update existing modules, and co-create new modules. Within the selling model and operating model, ensure the blending of the physical and virtual marketing and sales initiatives, simultaneously increasing HCP touchpoints and virtual selling capabilities. Drive and manage the organizational behavioural change process to successfully adopt and implement ALK’s digital multichannel and CRM platform.
  • As part of the RISE Academy: create structure and content for the selling model, in order to share best practices, to distribute tools, to share bite sized learnings and to maintain selling model awareness across the company. Blend the RISE support and the e-learning offerings into one comprehensive offering for our salesforces. Prepare, execute, and follow-up on physical and digital training modules
  • Build strong relationships with important internal stakeholders, partners, and vendors. Drive and participate to GM project groups, which are closely connected to sales excellence and the selling model ecosystem. Partner with HR on hiring and selecting new sales employees and development plans for existing sales employees
  • Determine, execute and follow-up on company “quick wins”, as well as future sales excellence projects. Conceptualize and facilitate sales excellence training sessions and workshops

Your qualifications

  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in a sales excellence or project management role within a marketing department of an international or national organization, preferably pharmaceutical, medical devices or FMCG. A passion for sales theory and practice: sales skills, development, and excellence. Patient/HCP or customer insights knowledge are appreciated
  • Preferably a degree at M.Sc. level
  • The Global Sales Excellence Manager is a Hørsholm office-based role, with a clear global scope. Min. 30-40 days per year of traveling abroad is required
  • Fluent in English, mastery in Danish, German and/or French is beneficial
  • Competencies:

    • Stakeholder management: exerts personal impact on many stakeholder levels and can identify, establish, and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. Develops and maintains networks throughout the organization
    • Team orientation: collaborates and works well with others, with a view to obtain the team’s objectives by sharing information and supporting others. Proactively seeks feedback, while demonstrating willingness to learn and change


The department/team

You’ll be one of the three Sales Excellence team members. Our Global Commercial Excellence & Brand Management department consists of over 15 passionate colleagues. We drive global tablet positioning, launches and communication strategy, while managing the legacy portfolio. We support and drive sound business decisions based on data analysis and market insights. We drive sales & marketing excellence and strategic projects in key markets or business areas. We develop our competences and processes to meet the needs of the patients and all stakeholders, internally as well as externally. We are driven by a high level of professionalism, integrity, an open-minded approach and contributing to an inspiring and fun working environment together with colleagues.

The position is located at the ALK headquarter in Hørsholm and it is necessary to live in an area where it is possible to commute daily to the office.
