About you
We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager in the area of IT & Business consulting, Digital and Cloud transformation, Cyber Security, system implementations and managed services/application outsourcing. A driver with a business mindset, who gets energy of running bids him/herself and go the extra mile to win projects. A small part of the job will also be to support in further developing the bid management operating model in place, like strengthen our repositories, templates, best practices and all other aspects that are needed for a professional practice. In our bid management operating model we cooperate closely with our Sales Center of Excellence colleagues from India and utilize their services as much as possible to be able to drive more proposals locally in the Nordics.
As our new Bid Manager, you will work closely with our Nordic client account and sales teams, as well as our solution architects, legal and finance colleagues. Together you convert opportunities into new assignments. With your experience, you are able to qualify tenders, RFI’s and RFP’s (incl. Swedish Public tenders) and you will own the bid management process end-to-end in which you will guide, steer and coach our bid teams to success. With your business mindset, you know how to co-create win themes and competitive bids. You will manage the internal approval cycle to realize an on time, high quality submission.
In summary, you are responsible for:
- Working with our client account and sales teams to develop and drive win themes, winning price and competitiveness as part of our sales cycles
- Setting up a Bid Plan, followed by leading the day-to-day management of the bid to closure
- Setting up a Bid Plan, followed by leading the day-to-day management of the bid to closure with our SCOE colleagues, following the schedule, set-up actions, develop the proposal, ensure reviews and approvals
- Guarding the quality of the proposal, including the match between ‘the ask’ versus our proposal. I.e., ensuring high quality in our response and solutioning, which must also specifically talk into the customer award criteria
- Set-up and drive preparation for customer presentations and demonstrations
- Certify Avanade internal governance and approval processes are complied to in due time without risking the submission deadline
- Actively contributing in getting better as an organization, documenting and implementing learnings and best practices of previous bids
- Building an internal network, to make sure we propose the best of Avanade to our clients

- Have at least 5 years of experience in Bid Management in the business & IT consulting, system implementation and managed services/application outsourcing industry. You can document solid win rates and a proven bid management methodology
- Have a proven track record in converting complex (Swedish public) tenders and RFx’s into assignments
- Can translate (Swedish public) tenders and RFx’s to win themes
- Can set the winning price with the team and ensure competitiveness focus all through the bid process
- Strong project management competence to be able to lead, coordinate delegate and follow-up
- You are structured, have an overall overview of the bid and process and at the same time you are detail oriented to capture discrepancies in documents, spelling mistakes, etc.
- Have experience with managing internal, senior stakeholders;
- Feel comfortable in challenging our bid teams with your drive to success;
- Can support in further developing our sales collateral, templates, etc. to increase our bid efficiency
- Can work in a highly matrix organization and navigate through this to ensure delivery of a winning proposal
- You have an overall but solid understanding of IT e.g. as consultant, project manager or service delivery manager.
- Have a higher vocational / university level of thinking;
- Are a team player with excellent communication skills and English language proficiency;
- Affinity with Microsoft and its software solutions is a plus.
- It is a plus if you speak and write native Swedish
- It is a plus if you have experience with Public tenders and tender legislation in Sweden
- You are good at creating network in our matrix organization.
