New Sales Director to Intrum – Denmark


A newly established leadership role to build a New Sales Acquisition team for a market leader with a strong brand and high-quality solutions. You are offered a unique opportunity to set the ambitions, hire the team and interact with C-level stakeholders in Danish Enterprises. You are supported by the best in the industry and a strong back-office and international colleagues.


Intrum is a market-leading credit management company that operates across 24 markets and with 10.000 people, and in Scandinavia, you become part of a region with 1.300 employees, strong collaboration across borders, and ambitions about increasing their share of the market. You report to a Scandinavian New Sales Director in Norway, collaborate with New Sales colleagues across Scandinavia, and in your daily work, you get 200 engaged colleagues in Denmark, and you are expected to build a team with 4-5 headcounts.

The workplace is a hybrid and with main location being Intrum’s Danish headquarter in Valby. Travelling is limited to 10-20 days yearly, across Denmark and in Scandinavia.

Build, develop and execute New Sales processes and create a Winning Sales culture

Because the role is newly established, in a well-established and performing setting, you can have a clear focus on New Sales and how to develop leads, from opportunities to closings. It is you, who set the direction and the ambitions together with the right people, and where you also focus on strategic planning and a long-term focus on most wanted prospects.

Your role evolves in different steps; first, you build the platform and structures, and secondly, you hire the team, take a leadership role, while also participating in New Sales towards key clients. The sales processes typically take between 3 months to 3 years, which requires a strategic focus and resilience. When the prospects have developed into being clients, they are handed over to a Commercial team. This means that some of the primary responsibilities are:

  • Build, develop and lead a strong commercial team, focusing on client value, results, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Master, coach and implement Intrum’s “Win-Room” way of selling.
  • Play an integral part of mapping markets, prospects, competitors, and offerings to be competitive and offer best in class solutions.
  • Build an understanding of market developments and client dynamics across client segments.
  • Collaborate closely with international colleagues re. knowledge sharing and hands-on collaboration on cross-border clients.
  • Contribute to the Scandinavian Sales Leadership team with a common goal to strive for excellence.

A New Sales Wizard by heart and a dedicated and motivating Leader

We imagine that you are a relationship-building leader and sales professional, with a strong sense of responsibility. Your good ideas and initiatives are balanced with an analytical, critical, and structured approach, whereby prioritization and plans are paramount. At the same time, you are a hunter by heart and know, when to take calculated risks. You are relentless in your pursuit of good business opportunities. In your interaction with others, you are honest, respectful, positive, constructive, and pragmatic, without compromising that there are goals and ambitions to be achieved.

Besides having a strategic vision and being able to drive transformation, you offer certain professional capabilities:

  • 5+ years from an internationally commercially driven organization in e.g., financial services or IT (solution-selling), where you have driven long sales processes.
  • Successful track record of delivering sales results with new clients, i.e., a “hunter” profile.
  • Business understanding and sufficient understanding of financial processes to understand, where Intrum contributes to the value chain.
  • Proven track record in leadership, team development and from implementing a performance culture within sales.
  • Fluent in Danish and English, verbally and in writing
  • Strong skills in CRM-systems and MS Office applications
