Area Sales Manager – Denmark and South Sweden for SÆPLAST

Based in Iceland, SÆPLAST was established in 1984 and is a world leader in designing and manufacturing reusable insulated storage containers. During the first years, they primarily served customers in the fishing industry, but later, other branches of the food industry brought the products into use. SÆPLAST is among the best-known export companies in Iceland, with production sites in Iceland, Spain, and Canada and a warehouse in Norway. The company is represented worldwide through sales offices and representatives with customers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

An innovative approach to recycling Sæplast’s innovative solution is to eliminate waste by designing and manufacturing long-lasting reusable and recyclable plastic containers supporting the circular economy. Recycling containers and using them to manufacture new ones. They introduce partnerships with key stakeholders, recycling and reusing retired Sæplast PE containers by moulding the first containers from recycled material. Being a market leader, Sæplast demonstrates social responsibility and meets customers’ interest and demand for sustainable products.

Business development, strategic sales planning, and P/L responsibility.


As Area Sales Manager, you will work out of your home office. You will cover the regions in Denmark and the Southern part of Sweden and, if you are motivated and have the right experience, you can also be responsible for the Northern German market. You will develop market and account plans and ensure the right product mix in the markets. You will report to the Sales Director Europe with the freedom to make your market and account plans based on your vital insight into the market drivers. When the plans are approved, you will execute these and manage the relations and interactions with agents and customers.

As SÆPLAST’s Area Sales Manager, you will secure the entire sales cycle from order intake to delivery, supported by customer service, logistics and other functions. In addition, you will contribute ideas for product development and the development process based on input from the market. As SÆPLAST has the same structure in other markets, you will have inspiring colleagues across Europe, Asia, and the Americas with whom you collaborate and consult.

To be successful, you will manage the following tasks:


  • P&L responsibility for your customers and agents in your markets
  • Communicate with, support, and develop relations with your customers and agents
  • Business development and development of market-relevant products
  • Follow up on and resolve quality questions and claims
  • Participate in trade shows, trade fairs, customer meetings, and relevant networks
  • Contribute to strategic sales planning and budgeting with colleagues and the Sales Director

Your profile.


You are a relationship builder with a sales-driven personality, and you take significant ownership of results and proactively pursue business opportunities. In your sales activities, you present yourself as trustworthy and reliable and are excellent in identifying and executing business opportunities and motivated by challenges. You are independent and comfortable with being a “lonely rider” on the road.

Your professional experience includes the following:


  • Experience from B2B sales to Food, Fishing, Pharma, Recycling, or another process industry
  • Experience in managing sales cycles, including negotiations and follow-up
  • Technical background and experience in selling specialised, complex products
  • Track record of delivering growth and proactively seeking out new business opportunities
  • Good knowledge of production processes where your solutions can add value
  • Highly proficient in Danish and English (written and spoken); knowledge of Swedish is an advantage but not a requirement
  • Good experience using MS Office applications
