About the role
CooperVision is one of the world´s leading manufacturers of soft contact lenses. In the Nordics we have a strong current business and market penetration and a very positive growth trend over the last years. To continue our growth path in the Nordics we will further strengthen our organization and are now looking for a strong people leader and sales manager to join us as our next Head of Sales Nordics.

The Head of Sales Nordics will be responsible for leading, managing and developing our sales department and directing key growth strategies to ensure the achievement of revenue growth and other objectives.

As a member of the Nordic Leadership Team, the Head of Sales will be a courageous and inspirational leader and a role model in driving the development and engagement in our organization through showcasing our values (We are Dedicated, We are Partners, We are Inventive, We are Friendly). Direct reports will include Key Account Managers, Field Customer Business Team Manager, as well as indirectly Regional Sales Managers and the Nordic Field team of Category Consultants.

Responsibilities
Deliver on excellent leadership, people development, cross-functional cooperation and Stakeholder management:

  • Lead and develop the Nordic Sales organization to ensure top performance, team engagement and focus on delivering results.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and development and ensure that business is consistently conducted with integrity and aligned to the values of CooperVision.

  • Directly lead the Nordic KAM-team. Develop and monitor ongoing KAM plans with the Key Account Managers to ensure partnership with our top KA customers and to optimize cross-functional sales performance.

  • Indirectly lead and effectively manage the field sales organization.

  • Ensure resources and right competencies in all teams. Define the most appropriate approach to recruitment.


Lead the sales function and deliver business growth

  • Implement budget ownership cross Nordic and continued development on initiative, planning and execution. Monitor effectiveness and drive monthly reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances.

  • Identify key areas for improvement in the sales process. Define the short, medium and long term training and development needs of the Sales team as well as with other stakeholders and providers to ensure highly effective delivery and follow through of all development initiatives.

  • Work closely with the European team to drive business strategy through timely communications to the sales team. Implement a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales supported by the European head office.

  • Implement best practice in sales techniques throughout the function. As the voice of the customer and the sales team, work closely with other functions to ensure the sales team are equipped with the appropriate tools, sales materials and promotional activities in a timely fashion to achieve business goals and key objectives.

  • Facilitate cross-functional cooperation by organizing and lead Nordic sales meetings and conferences.

  • Be up to date on market trends / Implement best practice in sales techniques throughout the department.

  • Prioritize and invest quality/resources where new potential customers and key partners and market leaders need our competencies.

  • Hands on contribute and support when negotiating agreements for contracts with customers and ensure commerciality.


Head of Sales Nordics will be e a member of the Nordic Leadership Team and will report to the General Manager Nordics. The location is based on a hybrid setup and the Head of Sales can be “home office based” in Sweden, Denmark or Norway. Frequent travelling will be required in the role (30-40%), including 1-2 days per week in the Nordic countries and a few days per month to the Nordic Head office in Gothenburg.

Desired candidate background
We are looking for a strong sales leader with extensive people management and large Key Account management experience, as well as a proven track record of sales growth and delivery of results from an international organization within FMCG/ConsumerGoods and/or Medtech. You have a history of developing highly engaged sales teams and knowledge about how local sales interacts with international sales teams in a matrix environment. You enjoy working with different cultures in a cross- border and cross-functional context where you are comfortable in doing business on multiple levels.

Desired skills and experiences:

  • +5yr experience working as a Senior Sales Leader, ideally for a similar international organization or FMCG/Consumer Goods/Medtech

  • Extensive direct people management experience within sales in driving engagement and building high performing teams (e.g. KAM, Trade Marketing, Field sales). Ideally also experience of managing direct reports in multiple countries.

  • International experience of working cross borders and cross-functionally with different stakeholders and functions

  • Solid Large Key Account management experience with proven results.

  • Fluency in English as well as a Scandinavian language.

  • Academic degree (BSc or MSc)
