[xxxxx]is seeking an experienced, growth-oriented, relationship-building, and strategic Chief Sales Officer (CSO) to join the leadership team at SMTHOUSE AB. The ideal candidate will possess a strong international background in sales management and solution selling, preferably within the electronics sector, along with documented experience in navigating the complexities of sales in a growing business.

About the Job:
As a close and trusted partner to the CEO, you will manage the classical responsibilities of sales, which is central to our growth strategy, while also working on critical strategic projects. You will play an essential role in shaping the future of SMT HOUSE.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
Are you ready to significantly influence sales targets and drive the success of an international growth company? SMTHOUSE AB is looking for a CSO to enhance the commercial aspect of our business. You will oversee a European sales organization composed of four colleagues across countries. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be part of the management team of a highly ambitious and sales-oriented company committed to further European growth. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring that the sales organization meets budgets and targets, that sales personnel achieve their KPIs, and that new business opportunities are identified. We expect you to be visionary, driven, and adaptable, with a strong sales acumen, capable of building and maintaining customer relationships and implementing new growth strategies. One of your key strengths will be your ability to motivate your colleagues to achieve results through visible leadership and coaching, as well as leading by example. You will not hesitate to visit customers across Europe and engage in operational tasks.

Your Primary Areas of Responsibility and Tasks:
Based in SMTHOUSE’s office in Vedbæk, Copenhagen, you will manage the European sales organization and cultivate new customer relationships. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, coaching, and developing a professional sales organization across Europe, ensuring state-of-the-art customer service and a thorough oversight of the sales pipeline.
  • Maintaining close relationships with customers and ensuring respectful dialogue between sales and delivery teams regarding daily operations and customer requirements.
  • Actively participating in customer and sales meetings, along with regular follow-ups on sales figures, KPIs, budgets, and earnings.

Your Background and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should be a motivating and results-oriented leader with strong managerial and empathetic qualities. Adaptability, structure, and proactivity are crucial for leading your colleagues effectively. As a small but growing company, SMTHOUSE requires flexibility and the ability to maintain an overview in a fast-paced environment. You should have documented experience in sales management at a European or international level. Furthermore:

  • Experience in structured sales management, focusing on leadership rather than mere management, is essential. You should have managed a sales team of five or more employees, with a proven track record in international sales and remote management.
  • While your educational background is not critical, a fit with your personality is vital. Industry knowledge in electronics is an advantage but not a prerequisite. The key is possessing the right sales instinct, positive energy, and a hunger for sales success.
  • Proven sales records are a must, along with the ability to close significant deals annually. You should be driven by achieving results and securing customer orders.
  • You should be independent, self-driven, and willing to make decisions.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to dive deep into understanding the business context and customer needs are essential. Building strong customer relationships is also crucial.
  • You should be structured and analytically strong, capable of evaluating problems and opportunities based on facts. As a manager, you should focus on fostering a value- and trust-based team environment.
  • Strong communication skills in multiple languages, particularly a high level of English, are required. Proficiency in German and possibly French would be advantageous.
  • Personality is paramount!
  • A willingness to travel approximately 5-7 days per month is expected.
