Do you want to strengthen Svitzer’s safety culture and help raising the safety standards of the towage industry even further? As the Global Head of HSSEQ and Marine operations I am looking to further strengthen my team with an exciting opportunity as Global Marine Health and Safety Culture Lead. You will be responsible for our global safety environment and one of the main drivers of our continuous work to make every day a safe day for our colleagues and operations globally.

The focus for our new Global Marine Health and Safety Culture Lead is to take the lead in creating an environment where we learn from our operation, describe what good looks like from a Health and Safety perspective and help our people to thrive and deliver to our customers every time.

Your focus will be to help your colleagues learn from incidents, create, and implement a safety strategy and be the focal point for Svitzer ESG HSE initiatives and goals. You will be Occupational Health Lead and you will be coaching leaders on safety matters and create a Marine Community framework which supports learning.

What You Will Do

As Global Marine Health and Safety Culture Lead you will be working closely with stakeholders with the aim to;

• Elevate the Safety agenda across Svitzer

• Drive learning from incidents through learning teams, data insights and engagement with front line employees at all levels

• Lead developing and take part in implementing Svitzer Safety strategy

• Own Svitzer ESG HSE initiatives and ensure it links up to Maersk ESG goals

• Be an active sparring partner towards front line leaders on health and safety

Who we are looking for

In Svitzer it is all about people, so it comes natural to you to create followership through your actions and the way you communicate complex matters for the benefit of your stakeholders, representing diversity of thought and mind. You possess empathetic listening skills and a high ability for learning.

You take ownership, are purposeful and your strong collaboration and coaching skills give you the ability to influence without authority and experience navigating through a matrix organisation. You are comfortable in a dynamic, international environment, as your stakeholders are located all over the world so travelling up to 40 days a year must be expected.

Preferably, you have knowledge and significant experience in driving cultural change in corporate organisations at all levels in relation to safety, and you are familiar with the Maritime environment and the risks associated.

You have strong facilitation skills, can develop strategic plans, and have a structured approach to day-to-day execution as well as problem solving.

Our ideal candidate has a formal Qualification in HSE with focus on learning and risk management, is fluent in spoken and written English and possesses IT administrative & analytical capabilities to use IT tools, reports, and metrics.
