Viking International School (VIS) is looking for a visionary school leader/principal to lead our strong community and further develop our school.
About our school
Viking International School is an international community of learners, families, and educators. Our diversity of cultures, religions, and worldviews helps us to celebrate, learn, and become global citizens committed to making a brighter future for all.
We pride ourselves on the community that we have all jointly created where children feel safe, happy, and challenged. Our learners are excited to ask questions, experiment, and find answers in our inquiry-based learning classrooms. We explore the world through units of work that allow us to dive deeply into subject matter and conduct our own research to find answers.
At VIS we use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) combined with the Danish National Curriculum to create an environment that is child centered and rich in learning opportunities. We are a small school with about 75 students and 10 staff. We currently offer IPC 1 to IPC 5 and the vision is to add a new year group each year until we span secondary school.

The post is for 1st. of September 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.

We expect to have the first round of interviews 11th. of August and second round of interviews at 18th. of August in the afternoon. The interviews will be at our school on Agernhaven 2k, 2750 Ballerup.

About you
The School Board is looking to appoint a school leader/principal who:
- Has hunger and vision to drive the further development of our school with commitment and strong leadership.
- Can guide, inspire, and empower a close-knit community of staff, learners, and the whole VIS community.
- Can secure the full engagement of staff, learners, and parents in the clear delivery of the school’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Builds trust-based relationships that enable positive partnership relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
We expect you to have:
- Documented leadership experience, and preferably leadership training.
- Good knowledge about free schools or great desire to learn about it.
- Solid insight into school operations, including financial management and working within the statutory framework.
- A relevant educational background with great insight into and practical experience with children's learning and development.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
