About the role
FLSmidth is looking for a Compliance Specialist for the Group Compliance Department, which is responsible for anti-corruption, trade compliance, competition law and human rights. You’ll be part of a small but dedicated team of five people, and you’ll have extensive contact with colleagues from all over the world.
The position will involve tasks associated with internal investigations and the further development of our human rights programme.

About the department
As Compliance Specialist, you will report to the Group Compliance Manager. The department also includes a Trade Compliance Specialist and two student employees. Group Legal, which Group Compliance is a part of, consists of more than 30 colleagues all over the world responsible for legal matters and intellectual property rights. Group Legal employees have varied backgrounds, including law, engineering and social science.
Your responsibilities
FLSmidth has a solid compliance set-up, and we aim to continuously strive for new and smarter solutions. Most recently, we have put in place a new policy framework and implemented an artificial intelligence-based system for conducting due diligence screenings.
Your responsibilities will be varied and you will get the opportunity to become familiar with most of our compliance initiatives. In particular, you will be assisting with internal investigations, including investigation of select concrete cases and managing local investigations, and you will be responsible for further development of our human rights programme, launched in 2017.
In addition, you will be involved in other compliance-related activities such as training of staff, development of e-learning courses, risk assessments, communication activities, and the development of an emerging industry network of compliance professionals.
The job involves some international travel, up to 25 days a year.

You have
- A master-level graduate degree in a relevant field, e.g. social science, law, business, engineering or similar
- One to ten years of relevant work experience
- Strong and relevant academic record
- Excellent English skills. Other languages are a significant asset
- Experience and knowledge of internal investigations or human rights
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work in a challenging and sometimes unpredictable environment
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
