About Rodinia and the position as Software Developer (algorithms)

In Copenhagen Rodinia is running the first Micro-Factory, putting all the energy into perfecting a solid operation with current customers who are Scandinavian clothing & fashion brands.

In-house Rodinia is building IoT software and automated processes that enables the Micro-factory to produce clothes in less than 48 hours without the use of water and with a minimal environmental footprint. In daily operations Rodinia interacts with hardware (printers, cameras, sensors, CNC cutters) and software (intelligent algorithms that enables automation).

The goal at Rodinia Generation is to change the way of making clothes.

Within this decade, Rodinia is going to make local and automated production of clothing the cheapest and most reliable manufacturing option. The developed process uses no water, produces no chemical waste and beats all current alternatives on speed and environmental footprint. Rodinia is building the world’s first competitive alternative to the industrial status-quo of the fashion industry.

Working at Rodinia

• The manufacturing site is located inside the office space and runs a very tight loop between idea and execution.
• You will be a part of Rodinia's in-house software development team led by our Head of Software & Development.
• You will be working closely with backend and fullstack software engineers
• Your other colleagues will have backgrounds in design, manufacture, and robotics engineering

Your responsibilities

• Build great algorithms with the focus on aiding the micro-factory automation workflow including the current nesting solution (see video of our nesting algorithm in action)
• Build a minimal software 'ecosystem' around your algorithms so that others may use them for simulation and demo purposes.
• It is beneficial if you have experience with software development
• We expect that you at least have an interest in learning software development and that you are prepared to be self-driven in doing so

Your qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree with hands-on experience building algorithms that work
• You will have a competitive advantage if you have examples of software development / code (preferably in Python) you can show (e.g. on GitHub or the like)
• You are born with a strong attention to detail
• You need efficiency in your daily life and put a pride in elegant code
• The preferred language is Python but not a must
• You are highly qualified if you consider yourself a software developer with algorithms as your super-power
• Fluent in English
