We also help some of Northern Europe’s largest organizations to store, structure, and share their content securely with Skyfish, our digital asset management application. Skyfish protects users' files on secure servers, organizes their work automatically with searchable tags, and makes teamwork simple with powerful sharing features. Additional streaming and gallery services supercharge content delivery. Our customers use Skyfish to maximize their security and work capacity together. The system is easy-to-use, and we offer constant new features and personable support.

Your role

We seek an experienced Backend Software Developer interested in high-performing web applications, including search algorithms and cloud infrastructure.

You will be part of a strong existing development team, working either at our headquarters in Odense, Denmark, or remotely.

We are in a period of rapid growth, and we have many exciting and technically challenging projects in our pipeline. The platforms you help develop will create notably effortless user experiences and convert new visitors into satisfied customers.

Your tasks

You will be involved in creating innovative solutions, and improving existing solutions and services, to deliver friction-free user experiences on our platforms. You will work closely with other developers to create new features, and integrate new technologies into existing ones. You will be deeply involved in taking challenging projects from conceptualization through to launch and operation.

Our developers work across two teams: a Backend Team and a Frontend Team. The two work closely together. If you also enjoy working with frontend technologies, we will be happy to welcome you as a full stack developer.

You will have a lot of creative flexibility. We trust you to pick the best tools for your jobs. We are open to introducing new technologies to solve specific problems; for example, we have recently begun using AWS Gateway together with AWS CDK to manage our Cloud stack.

The Cloud is inherent to our work. We run our services on AWS. We use open-source software such as NGINX, MySQL, and Elasticsearch, along with custom-built services in PHP and Python. The open-source approach is vital to our ethos and our operations.

Your qualifications

You are open-minded, and you can recognize projects’ potential while you maintain focus on what is achievable. You are driven to improve what already exists, and you are not afraid to pull large systems apart to rebuild them with improved functionality. You can turn theoretical understanding into new, practical solutions.

We know developers come in different forms, but we expect you to at least have the following:

• Experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
• Experience defining and implementing APIs.
• Proven development skills in PHP, Python, or similar languages
• Excellent written and verbal English

The following are advantageous:

• Experience with test-driven development
• Interest in AWS/DevOps
