Developer Relations Lead

Maersk Technology is building its own Developer Relation capability, we get excited to collaborate and connect with the communities that love technology as much as we do. Our mission is to foster genuine relationships with our diverse technology communities, develop compelling content across a variety of mediums, and help to build a vibrant tech ecosystem across the world.

You will be hands-on with our product stack and deeply involved with local and international technology ecosystems. As we are new, multi-disciplinary team, the role is yours to shape and mould. With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Maersk. An ardent advocate for these developers, you represent their voice internally. You will develop and deliver presentations at conferences, build and enable workshops, craft tech demos, network and meetups and user groups, and so much more! Finally, you will play a key role in helping our Maersk teammates to do the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with our Products and Engineering teams to build compelling demos
• Collaborate with our Open Source, Start-up programs, Partners on content and outreach efforts
• Take regular engineering-focused meetings with partners to help them design systems, build, launch feature integrations, fix bugs, improve User Experience, and solve complex code problems at a scale for users

• Bring industrial and regional insights to internal stakeholders, and influence cross-functional teams to collaboratively improve the developer and user experience across the ecosystem
• You will help build our community by driving public technical channels, sharing publicly our internal technical learnings, animating regular calls or live events, running live sessions or recording videos
• Work across Maersk Technology to identify, nurture, and develop content stories

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active participation in technical communities (e.g. meet-ups and conferences, user groups and forums, open-source projects, etc.)
• Competent in programming languages such as Java, Javascript Frameworks – Vue, React, etc. , Python, Go, Bash, Rust, etc.
• Experience in developing in Java
• Knowledge of DevOps principals and best practices
• Experience contribution to open-source projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Excellent communication/presentation skills. You are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd and can keep it interesting
• Have good writing skills, ideally, experience writing compelling content for the web

Preferred Qualifications:

• Publicly available written content samples or recordings of presentations
• Experience in creating video content
• Experience working as part of a distributed / remote team and using asynchronous communication
• Comfortable travelling globally
