Key Responsibilities

• Engineering at the heart of Maersk’s technology services, building the Technology backbone for Maersk by enabling a seamless developer experience
• Engineer highly available, performant, and observable API Gateway Platform
• Engineer technology services for our API owners, API developers, and internal/external Application developers.
• Engineer the design, architecture, and deployment of our technology services to meet user, cyber security, and auditing requirements.
• Develop, operate & support backend web services using Golang, JS, bash, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure, Git.
• Develop automated testing (unit, integration, functional) for our codebase.
• Develop CICD pipelines with GitHub
• Explore, learn, and develop AI/ML solutions
• Spread API best-practices across the organization, while mentoring and inspiring fellow engineers
• Work within a Kanban framework to implement Agile and DevOps software development
• Integrate enterprise-wide logging and monitoring systems within the API Gateway platform
• Create and enhance monitoring components like log parsers, dashboards, alerts, and monitors
• Follow SRE practices within the team for SLO/SLIs, error budgets, and toil reduction
• Ongoing support of users with troubleshooting API’s using tools like Postman, Curl, Linux command line
• Develop and modify Restful APIs using Golang based on Docker and Kubernetes technologies
• Work with teams across the organization to deliver outcomes for the business stakeholders to define and evolve products from concept to reality.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver a cloud native experience to our application teams for the entire lifecycle management of the API Gateway Platform.
• Operate a mission-critical, high performance, highly secure, highly available, automated, and cost-effective API Gateway Platform.
• Support and contribute towards the architecture of the automation framework for implementation of API Gateway Platform.
• Help to manage and expand the core platform team and work closely with other Platform teams, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Audit teams.
• Provide input into the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.
• Develop technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
• Perform systems and applications performance characterization and trade-offstudies through analysis and simulation.
• Responsible for implementing the System Development Life Cycle methodology and implementing associated cross-functional tools to ensure adoption and continuous improvement.
• Provide comprehensive technical contribution collaborating with a variety of team members including working cross-functionally with the broader technology team at Maersk to drive common platforms and new services
• Collaborate with other stakeholders on interdependencies and best practices

Who you are

• Experience working with API Gateways like Apigee, Kong, and Tyk.
• Proven background delivering web services using known frameworks and cloud native technologies
• Strong knowledge of Go programming language.
• Strong knowledge of Linux
• Strong experience in various databases with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) of data, and schema design
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Experience in Cloud Technologies for deployment of services onto Docker / Kubernetes, Application, and Database resources.
• Experience with enterprise level monitoring, alerting and notifications (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, DataDog, and PagerDuty/Hedwig)
• Strong experience troubleshooting HTTP traffic from browser to target using common tools
• Good Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud implementations with a proven track record in Performance, Scalability, and Resiliency
• Experience with the development workflow using toolslike IDE’s, Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, artefact registries, and cloud resources.
• Experience with TDD, code testability standards,
• Strong experience and comfort with automation of cloud and on-premises infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible or similar
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD model of development
• Familiar with SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes and tools like JIRA
• Good understanding of OOP, design patterns, and industry best practices
• Good communication, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Should be able to collaborate and work with global teams
• Able to work across organisational boundaries and dotted line reporting structures
• Ability to fully understand business goals and metrics, turn data into insights, and translate requirements into actionable analysis
• Able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical thought-leadership
