In the role, you will develop tools, ad-hoc programs and services to support our commercial activity on the FTR Trading desk. Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:
  • become responsible for our data management systems. This includes extraction, validation and processing of external data that we use as input for our simulations
  • maintain our database systems and make sure data are handled in a reliable and scalable way

We predict and analyze transmission constraints to systematically trade Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) in the US Eastern Interconnection and Texas. For this type of trading, we process large amounts of data and operate a small cluster of simulation servers.

    Furthermore, we imagine that you:
  • have an educational background in Computer Science or related fields
  • are proficient in Java (C# or C++ could be accepted) and Python
  • have experience with collaborative software projects (IDEs, version control, deployment, etc.) – a plus, not a requirement
  • have experience with document databases such as MongoDB – a plus, not a requirement
  • are authorized to work in the United States
  • have an educational background in Computer Science or related fieldsare proficient in Java (C# or C++ could be accepted) and Pythonhave experience with collaborative software projects (IDEs, version control, deployment, etc.) – a plus, not a requirementhave experience with document databases such as MongoDB – a plus, not a requirementare authorized to work in the United StatesPlease note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.You can read more about our recruitment process here.
