For our IT department in Aarhus, UBsend is looking for an innovative and ambitious Software Developer to build and maintain best-in-class in-house developed IT solutions.

UBsend is a scale-up company specialised in developing and implementing state-of-the-art logistic solutions within the parcel industry. We make sure that large as well as small- and medium-sized companies are always provided with the optimal solutions for their parcels in terms of carrier selection, lead time, prices and customer experience. We strive to be the leading integration platform, and we are growing double digits, working with many well-known B2B and B2C clients. We are an international company and currently employ around 35 people across our offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
The department
You will become part of our growing IT department, which is primarily based in Aarhus. The department is responsible for developing our new applications and maintaining existing integrations. Examples of projects and solutions you will be working with include:
We make scalable transportation solutions, which can be reused in our network of clients. We strive to develop our solutions with an object-oriented approach and utilizing software design patterns, when relevant. We aim to make the best solutions for our customers, while having fun in an informal culture. We use Scrum methodologies and apply test-driven and domain-driven development with API first approaches.
Key players in our technology stack include:
Java 11, Spring Boot, .NET Core, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, TerraForm, Azure, Azure event hub, Spring Data - MongoDb, MSSQL, GraphDB, Maven, BitBucket + Pipelines, NodeJs, TypeScript, Angular CLI, Elastic Search.
The position
Your main task will be to develop and maintain state-of-the-art applications to create a solid and smooth foundation for operations. You will primarily be working with Microsoft Azure as the infrastructure platform. You will be handed a great deal of responsibility and the opportunity to implement your own ideas in an environment where teamwork is highly valued.

- The development and implementation of a new enterprise platform in a microservice architecture
- Carrier platform development
- Development of carrier and transportation integrations
- The development of a new invoicing system.

The position

Your daily tasks will include:
- Building new features into our cloud (Azure cloud) micro-services Java platform
- Conducting thorough code reviews (e.g. pull-requests)
- Integrate with partners and produce the best possible integrations
- Defining and implementing automated testing supporting our CI & CD
- Defining architectural solutions and improvements for the service(s) you’re working on
- Implementing CI and CD practices
- Identifying and defining viable improvements to our way of working
- Designing solutions together with IT colleagues and business counterparts
- Sharing knowledge and experiences with your team members and colleagues.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in Java, since this is our primary programming language, but also hands-on experience with C# is an advantage
- Extensive knowledge of software design patterns and principles such as DRY, SoC and SOLID
- Familiar working with relational and document databases such as MS SQL and Mongo DB
- Experience with microservices architecture and design-first principles of APIs
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure as a platform
- Excellent English communication skills (our company language)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) In CS / Software Engineering (or related fields)
- Experience in Scrum, Git (flow), and JIRA (and the rest of the Atlassian suite)
- Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps.
