Power Solution Applications, Controls & Electrical Turbine Application SW

Turbine Application Software is a part of Vestas Power Solutions, which is the cornerstone of Vestas. The Application Software department is part of the Software Applications & Electronics organisation, which has departments in Chennai, Porto, and Denmark delivering the turbine infrastructure including SW, Electronics, Cables, Sensors, Cabinets, and Power supplies. The Turbine Application Software team is responsible for delivering application software solutions to all Vestas turbines. As a Software Engineer, you will be a part of this department and a key part of its achievements. Responsibilities
As a Lead Software Developer, you will

  • Participate in full project lifecycles using Agile practices for the software development
  • Be engaged during the functional and software requirements definition of the turbine's control systems
  • Be committed in writing and updating comprehensive technical documentation and maintain software functionality
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining our control systems for the various hardware components of the turbine
  • Be developing high-quality software in an engaging and complex domain
  • Engage in root cause analysis to identify potential turbine performance issues
  • Be a significant contributor to the continuous improvement of our processes, software, and tools

Qualifications

  • MSc or BSc in Computer-science, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Advanced programming skills in C/C++ or Matlab/Simulink
  • Object Oriented & State based software design
  • Hands-on experience with product or technology development

It's desirable to have:

  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience in real-time embedded systems and control software
  • Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python/Bash
  • Experience with GIT, JIRA, and other Atlassian tools

Additional information
Your work location will be in Aarhus, DK. Some travel activities are accepted and will be around 1-2 weeks/year.
