Scrum Master to support transformation of key business service functions
We are looking for a skilled Scrum Master / IT Project Manager to help drive the digital transformation of Novo Nordisk. You will be part of a project organisation developing IT capabilities for key line of business functions, like HR, Finance and Quality.

The department
The position is based in Finance, Business Services & Cross IT (FBCIT) - an area with 330+ diverse and highly skilled employees working in Denmark, India, and the United States. We provide world-class projects and support for critical IT systems and services across the Novo Nordisk value chain.
We are transforming our way of working by rapidly adopting the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and have launched the first Agile Release Train in Novo Nordisk to achieve business agility. Our vision is to be the best digitalisation partner for our colleagues in the line of business by enabling intuitive user experience and providing continuous business value.
The position
As a Scrum Master / IT Project Manager, you will become responsible for facilitating, coaching and supporting one or more of our agile delivery teams and will be working both independently and in close collaboration with our business owners, product owners, technical architects and agile team members. Initially, we are looking for a scrum master to support our agile delivery teams in the Global People & Organisation area, however, it may also be required to work in roles in other of our areas.
Your role as scrum master is strategically important to our area and will have top priority and support from senior management as part of implementing agile principles and new ways of working. The main responsibilities in the scrum master position are:
- Facilitate the agile delivery team to efficient delivery
- Coaching and leadership
- Keep track of and help solve impediments and escalate if necessary
- Help the team manage their progress via transparent backlog and board overviews
- Help the team and other roles prepare and align expectations before and during events
- Drive teams, vendors and customers in Novo Nordisk’s Agile way of working incl. Agile Delivery Model, Azure DevOps and others
- Change ambassador to drive the learning culture and agile mindset in Novo Nordisk
- Budgeting and vendor management
The position is in Bagsværd, Denmark, however, you will be working global teams and may sometimes need to work and engage with agile delivery teams distributed across different time-zones.
Your qualifications
You have a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in business administration, engineering, computer science, or other relevant fields. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 1-3 years of documented experience in agile methodologies, incl. scrum, as well as previous experience with managing and delivering agile projects. SAFe certification is preferred.
You are familiar with agile business IT projects and have delivered successful projects working with external IT partners. Either as agile IT project manager, scrum master or maybe as management consultant. Ideally, you have worked with projects within the pharma industry within finance and business services (e.g. HR, Finance or Quality).
You possess strong people management skills and have a natural ability to engage your stakeholders. Your structured way of working and general overview enables you to handle several tasks at the same time while keeping an ongoing focus on results. Independence, cross-cultural understanding and fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Some travel should be expected.
