About the department
Novo Nordisk Product Supply Biopharm is a manufacturing organisation with around 2,500 engaged colleagues. As our new Software Developer, you will join our Biopharm Digital & Projects department where 22 dedicated colleagues share high ambitions and a humorous tone. We are an internal consultancy unit supporting many kinds of improvement projects across Biopharm. The department is situated in Gentofte, but work is also done close to our internal customers at the production sites in Zealand and New Hampshire in the US.
The position
As our new Software Developer you will be part of our team developing new software to optimise the operation of laboratories in Novo Nordisk. We develop the software in close collaboration with the users and we are working in an agile framework. We need a strong software developer to help us develop the application further as we roll out to laboratories across Novo Nordisk.
The application is a Python / Flask backend and a React frontend with a Postgres database underneath. The application is deployed in AWS with an automatic deployment flow. You are expected to support the back end primarily. Our job is to ensure that users can model daily operations in the laboratory and ensure they always have the right data in perfect quality. You are expected to get into the detail of business logic; to develop the application and to write specific code. We also expect you to challenge and develop our methods and make us better as a team.
When this project is finalised in one years’ time, we have several other exciting projects in the pipeline requiring the skills of a strong Software Developer. In all our projects you can expect to have huge influence and responsibility on the solution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 1 year of professional developer experience
- Experience in developing (web) applications
- Experience with Python
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience with continuous integration
- Experience with infrastructure (AWS / Azure, Docker)
- Preferably you also have experience and interest in Machine Learning and Frontend development
- A service-oriented mind set
A relevant Master degree within Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar are preferred.
