About the department
You will be a part of the Novo Nordisk Insulin production, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI) and assigned to Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), the world’s largest Insulin Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing facility located in Kalundborg. IM1 has 5 facilities operating under one roof. You will be employed in IM1 Bioprocess Improvement-Optimization (IM1BIO), a group of 7 highly skilled colleagues plus MSc students all working with advance process modelling, simulation, analysis, control and optimization for representation of (bio-) chemical digital twins.
The position
Your main tasks will vary and will be applied to challenges within IM1 related to process dynamics with a focus on process control. Examples of challenges are: process understanding which requires data analysis of existing process data, process understanding formulated into an improvement problem which requires the development and usage of analyzed data into a dynamic-control model, process improvement formulated into an optimization problem which requires the identification of important (variable) inputs for selection of the best values for operations/new projects.
Since the nature of the job is student based, you will also have the opportunity to develop and learn how to apply R&D based concepts into real-world application using knowledge that you have and will gain from an academic degree. Furthermore, you will gain experience in working in a global company, manufacturing environment and how data can be utilized with the current trend of industry 4.0. Therefore, you will be part of an organisation that values creativity, innovation and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds.
Qualifications
The candidate who should be currently an MSc student, should have the following or developing qualifications:
•Studying within the field of chemical and/or process engineering at a Danish university. NOTE: Applications from electrical engineers are most welcome if your focus is on process dynamics-control and would like to apply this to biochemical processes
•Focus area of studies: process design, modelling and optimization
•Understanding of basic process control theory
•Understanding of basic process simulation programs
•About to or already within an MSc program
Coupled with the above, you enjoy solving complex problems applying a systems approach to manage complexity and arrive at a feasible applicable solution.
