In this DevOps Engineer role, you will be working on the maersk.com platform as part of the Visibility team, developing the core visibility software our customers and staff use to ensure timely arrival of trade, and to take proactive steps when something goes wrong.

• Create full-stack technical solutions that are scalable and maintainable
• Create the tooling necessary to help realize our ambitious visibility roadmap
• Drive automation in the entire product lifecycle through continuous delivery
• Drive application performance, scalability, security, and reliability through continuous deployment, monitoring, logging, alerting and test automation in the entire lifecycle of the product (inception, design, through development and operationalization)
• Operate in an agile team and independently direct time and resources
• Help design, architect and engineer new tools & solutions as a core foundation for our visibility systems
• Work with our internal platform engineering teams to develop the functionality of our future systems
• Deeply understand our customer and business problems and apply your knowledge of large-scale technologies to deliver the outcomes our customers need. We care about team members who are not only technical specialists but are excited about understanding the logistics domain---no prior experience in logistics required, so long as you are committed to learning!
• Take part in on-call rotations with the product team, and take the lead in preventing incidents and maintaining product SLAs, through automation and blameless postmortems
• Strong engineering background, with a degree or experience in Computer Science and DevOps Engineering
• Entrepreneural mindset and ability to operate independently to create end-to-end solutions
• Deep experience with deploying software at scale through infrastructure-as-code, preferably with some experience in technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure services, relational databases, modern big data architecture such as Spark, and Kafka
• Independent and self-directed individuals that thrive in ambiguity
• Desire and ability to learn about the business and the industry
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with technical and non-technical team members
