You will be joining the Advanced Vessel Modeling team which is a part of the Star Connect product. You will play a key role in building software that enables Maersk to reach its target of reduce C02 emissions of our extensive fleet. Our teams mission is to provide data driven advice on how to get from point A to B in the most safe, sailable and efficient way (from a routing and energy management point of view).
This is one of the few opportunities out there where your direct contribution allows you to make a very real difference for the climate

Our team is a mix of software engineers, data scientists and domain experts, where your job as a software engineer is a mix of:
• Developing our cutting-edge routing algorithms that provide weather optimized routes tailored to our individual vessels
• Enabling our data scientists by ensuring quality data engineering and architecture is implemented
• Taking part in the maintenance/operations of our running systems (we are responsible of running our own services)
• Encouraging and promoting best software engineering practices in building reliable and scalable solutions
• Delivering solid, dependable products with high value and impact on our business

Experienced with developing successful products
•Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent job experience
•Technical team leadership
•Fluent in Python - this is our primary language
•Experience with strongly typed languages such as C/C++ or Go
•Strong algorithmic understanding
•Strong communication skills and stakeholder management
•Willingness and ability to learn as you go
A preferred candidate would have -
•Some familiarity with data science
•Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
•Experience with running and maintaining code in production
•Creative self-starter and detail-oriented, both towards code and design
•Good social skills, ability to successfully collaborate with people of different personalities and ways of working
